Default Help! Looking for vegetable stamps!

I lead a Card Ministry at our church, and I am desperately seeking vegetable stamps that will be used to stamp a large number of cards for our church's Garden Ministry. The Garden Ministry grows thousands of pounds of vegetables each season and distributes them to the poor through area food pantries, so that is why the vegetable theme is important. Our Card Ministry will be stamping these cards with the help of our Sunday School children and their families next month.

Now that you have the background of what these stamps will be used for, does anyone have any suggestions for me? I know SU has a neat "Homegrown" veggie stamps set in the new catalog, but I'm looking for some other ideas. This project is going to have to come together fast so I can get all the prep work done in time and I'm stressing out! Can anyone help me with some suggestions? Thanks!

Christine

I did a Sabbath School craft using vegetable clip art, along with these sayings:

SPINACH much time as you can in prayer.
LETTUCE go to the house of the Lord. Psalms 122:1
Nothing BEETS having a friend in Jesus.
We go to church because we CARROTS the Sabbath.
PEAS on Earth, good will toward men. Luke 2:14
PEPPER your friends with kindness.
The meek SHALLOT 'herit the Earth.
SQUASH sin!

Would anything like this work?

Thanks for the cute idea, Monica! I'll have to see if I can adapt that to the type of card they want us to make. If it doesn't work this time then I am definitely going to use it for another project.

Anyone else out there know of any vegetable stamp sets?

Christine, if you happen to have a Cricut and the SCAL software, SVG.com has a vegetable garden SVG collection (2 in fact)

O.K., I never really felt the need for a Cricut until I looked at that Vegetable Garden collection!!! That is really neat! Thanks for the suggestion PurplePeopleEater.

Anyone else out there? I'm still looking for an actual stamp set...

MFT has a new WTG in the Garden set . Seen here.... osCMax v2.0 : Who's That Gardening Girl? - $15.95

also MFT did a Wednesday Sketch Challenge, well it was color challenge, but this set came out right around that time, so lots of entries with this set.

I do a lot of recipe swaps here on SCS and I got a great fruit and veggie set through Clear Dollor Stamps: Clear Acryclic Stamps - Scrap Booking Depends on what veggies you are loking for and how big - these average about an inch for each veggie, I count 8 veggies and 9 fruits.
Good luck.

Thanks Jennik and Lisa, those are great! I knew there had to be some veggie sets out there somewhere. I'm going to order the one from Clear Dollar for sure, I think the Sunday School kids will really have fun stamping with those. I'm also thinking hard about ordering the MFT set also...it would look cute to use one of the MFT images as the focal point and the Clear Dollar stamps in the background since they are small.

If anyone else comes up with more suggestions I'd love to know. I won't be ordering for a day or two since I haven't been given the full details on the event at this point.

Thanks to all of you who have helped so far!

I Googled vegetable rubber stamps and came up with this company. I don't know anything about it, but the veggie stamps look really nice.

The current Close to My Heart catalog has a set that might fit the bill.

Cosmo Cricket had a Garden Variety line this summer. Here is the paper crafting kit (they also had a 6x6 pad, too) and here is the coordinating Unity stamp set (I also saw one on ebay for the same price, free shipping).

well, if you had some patience... sometimes you can find vintage PSX (personal stamp exchange) veggie stamps on ebay... ( but, these are generally sold as single stamps) and depending on how hard to come across it, a particular veggie some go cheap and some go sky high... (but these are very detailed beautiful stamps) so?? just another idea...

or what about a larger cornucopia stamp? Just thinking - a detailed line art image can look nice left uncolored, and that would save you time since you have to make so many... I know Our Daily Bread designs has one in a Thanksgiving set, and there are others out there... Biblical Impressions has one too...
