Default Gina Marie Dies

Just rec'd my order of Gina Marie Dies and was wondering if anyone else was having trouble getting them to cut well. What am I doing wrong? I have tried several methods and, BTW, I am not new at this. HELP!

Gosh, I'm sorry. I have several sets of Gina Marie and have never had any trouble with the regular sandwich in my Cuttlebug.

I only have some basic stitched shapes, though, not the more intricate dies. I've seen comments that the intricate dies can be very tricky, no matter what the brand.

If I have a die that is giving me trouble, I use an Accuquilt cutting mat instead of one of the plates for the machine. I have to shim it a bit, as it is thinner than the plate, but it works every time...

I have lots of the Gina Marie Dies and I have never had an issue with any of them.

I will try some shims of different thicknesses, a newer cutting mat or anything else I can think of. I also have the basic stitching dies. I sure hope my Big Shot is not dying. Am also going to try some of my other dies ( I have a FEW to choose from. LOL) and see if it is the Big Shot. I really like the variety from Gina Marie.

I noticed my Gina Marie stitched dies seem a little thicker than Spellbinder dies. I don't seem to have any trouble cutting them in my Big Shot.

Just a suggestion about shimming - put your shim where the die is not cutting through completely, not on the entire die. That is, unless it's the entire die that isn't cutting. Then you'd need the extra thickness everywhere.

I also have found the metal piece that Cheery Lynn sells useful for fussy, detailed dies. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Let us know how it goes! : )

Wow i have been a big fan and I have many of gina marie dies (More than i want to admit too) and never had a problem. I have had problems with cottage cutz and cherry Lynn dies however. Good luck. I hope you well with them as they are good dies and it is always a bummer when you get a new order and you have problems with them.

OK, I took a deep breath and looked for some patience. Not always my strong point. Your ideas are wonderful. Here is what I did: I changed out my extremely worn cutting plate with my top plate and used a new top plate. I used my magnetic base plate and wax paper between the die and the paper. Much better! I did have to shim a few edges (Thank you bjeans!). The dies then cut quite well. Also tried an intricate die and it worked well. I do think my Big Shot is a little weak on one side. I will have to look into that and see if I can fix it.
Thank you all again for your wonderful suggestions.
