I had bunion surgery almost two weeks ago. I spent the first 10 days with my foot raised above my heart to reduce swelling. Got the hard cast this Monday, but then had to deal with my husband who had back surgery on Wednesday!
Finally got back in the craft room today. I've had lots of time to browse the gallery, watch tutorials, read blogs, etc. But before I can do anything I need to clean the mess I left myself. Not easy when I'm on crutches! I had so much prep to do before my surgery that I never got to prep my craft room.
I should be able to make a card tomorrow, but one of the things I unearthed was a stack of cards that need to be finished - inside greetings and my signature stamp on back. I'm usually so focused on getting the front finished, photographed, and uploaded that I have been neglecting to finish the card.
Still, happy to be back in there.

Welcome back, Sue! My sister had that surgery about a year ago, and I know it wasn't any fun. Hope everyone is on the mend and you can get back to crafting! Sometimes, just the cleaning helps me feel creative again!
Gosh, Sue - you've had a lot on your plate! I'm sure you're more than ready to get back stamping again. If I tried cleaning my room while on crutches, I can bet I'd trip on something and fall . Happy cleaning and subsequent stamping.
Thanks for the well-wishes. I may have overdone things a bit yesterday because my foot was throbbing by the time I went to bed. I'll dial it back a bit today and make sure to elevate it afterwards.
Sabrina, I'm more worried about tripping over the cat than the stuff on the floor. At least the stuff doesn't actively relocate to directly under my feet or in my path.

I'm in the same boat here. I've been sick for 4 years!! During that time I've done very little crafting. My supplies have been moved around 3 or 4 times to accommodate kids moving back home..what a mess I've got! lol But it's all good, I'll get it organized again someday!
Hopefully, I had my last surgery in July...still healing from it but it's going well.
I hope life settles down a little for you & your hubby and you can get some crafting done.
Glad you're (sort of) back in action! I've gone from an entire room to a stack of toolboxes and a couple of file boxes with all of my "stuff" packed in them for our move in a week or two. I don't know when it'll get unpacked because we don't know yet where we're going to live (we'll be gypsies for a little bit). I hope you heal soon (and hubs, too) and can get back full force - love and light to you!
Wow Sue...your hubby is laid up and you too...that is really difficult. Glad you are getting back on your feet. Take care and hope you are both feeling better soon.
Sending many hugs and well wishes mf!

Glad to hear you are on the mend. And just as happy to know that I'm not the only one who fails to finish my cards. I have a stack of those myself.
Hi Sue, I hope that your foot heals quickly. My SIL had the same surgery so I have a little bit of knowledge about that type of surgery. Pretty tough with your DH having back surgery too - hope it went OK and he gets better very soon. I hope you are having some help with meals etc. It would be so hard to clean a Craft Room on crutches! I have a pile of cards that need the inside sentiment and my stamp on the back too - I don't know why I put that part off and always seem to do it at the last minute when the card has to be in the post in 5 minutes time LOL!

Reason: grammatical error
I've become adept at hopping. My set up is linear, so my paper and stamps are out of reach to my right and my paper cutter is out of reach to my left. I realized I can reach each after two hops, so instead of fighting with my not - smooth rolling chair, I hop.
It's also forcing me to put things away immediately. Clutter is an actual hazard.
My husband is doing well but he's not allowed to reach. So I have to find creative ways to get things up high or down low on my shelves.

Welcome back and glad you are past the worst of it ....on paper that idea of surgeries so close might have looked good, but like so many things the reality is another story...unless his was not planned...
Funny about the cat moving around. Careful!
It is the perfect excuse though to watch tutorials, etc as you said though! I have to justify that time but I have to admit I would pull up short of a surgery! lol.
I don't know how long you are actually off your foot but I have seen people on college campus tours that have basically a scooter for their bad foot/lower leg (wouldn't think it would work for knee or above because of pressure).
OMG, I feel for you. I was in a full leg cast, no weight bearing. The cast was applied with my lower leg flexed so I couldn't walk on it if I wanted to. Like you I hopped and got pretty good at it for short distances, like to the fridge 'n back 😄. Please feel better soon, and hope your husband recovers quickly too!
