I gave all of my alcohol inks away because I never use them. Today I found all the felt applicator pads. Can they be used for anything else? Has anyone ever used them for regular inks or paints? I'm sure I could play around with them - and I will - but I was curious about others' experience. Thanks.
I've used them with dye inks. Not on purpose but because I didn't realize they were intended for alcohol inks... lol
They work well with stencils. They work ok to add color around embossed and masked images. It could just be me, but I found it tricky to get a smooth, consistent color. Seems like some of the fibers pick up more ink and then you have streaks in your swirl.
Tapping on ink is a good idea. Like a one-time use mini ink pad
They're tiny, but you might also be able to cut shapes (die cuts) out of them. Tiny clouds, top of ice cream cone or whipped cream, a beard for a character...?
Fold them in half & adhere to the bottom of marker racks, lamps, etc. that might otherwise scratch wooden tables or bookshelves! Instead of perfect little felt "rounds" that are sold for that, you can set the trend with perfect little squares. ;)
