I have done a technique that uses very small strips of masking tape overlapped to cover the cardstock and then brayered with an ink color. If this sounds like what you are looking for I can give you more details.
Stamper Dog (Anne Clemmer) has a great video. Here's a link to the list of videos - http://www.stamperdog.com/movies.htm - the faux croc is in the third row down.

This is sort of related, but GinaK at StampTV just posted today how to make faux snake skin. It's something I've never tried before, but the result looks amazing. Here's the link: http://stamptv.ning.com/video/faux-snake-skin

This is a fantastic, fun blog site. It's a must see if you are looking for a good smile and some great techniques and projects! Thanks for the link!
I was getting ready to take Stamper Dog for a walk when I noticed a lot of new friends on my newsletter list. Then I found this thread & tears came to my eyes.
Stamper Dog's not so humble, but I must thank you all for your kind words. What an inspiration to get me back on film. Stamper's always bugging me to make another video, but we've had some camera issues lately. Guess we'll have to get into production!
Again, thank you all for your kind words. Stamper's a real pistol. I don't think I'll be able to live with him once I tell him he's got some new friends. How could such a big head fit on such a little dog?

I am in exactly the same boat with DH Debra!!!! So I so know that feeling..... so I am now running classes for others ( great excuse to spend a lot of time i the craft room!! - and get some money to spend on more supplies!!!!) And it means I am SO busy - which stops me "anger venting a bit" as my DH always gets in the wrong place!!!!! Looking forward to my own space again too.....

Oh, I made 3 of the adorable Top Note faux alligator wristlets this weekend for some girls graduation 8th grade. I put $5 and a DSP covered lip balm in each one. They turned out so cute and were a blast to make! Gretchen Barron has them shown on her website. She said she used Jackie Topa's tutorial, which is what I used to, to do that faux alligator. I made a turquoise, purple and green one and they are cute cute cute!

I just now saw your post. Stamper Dog is hoping that you're smiling more. We have over 19% unemployment here. Some of the highest in California. BUT the last few newspapers are saying that things are looking up. The homes are starting to sell & the unemployment is starting to drop.
As a demonstrator, I have to look at it that more than 80% are employed. This has been a good year for me & my team & I hope that EVERYONE'S reality continues to improve.
God bless.
P.S. "Keep Your Pecker Up" is English slang for "keep your chin up". We lived there 5 years & I have very fond memories of it.

Ann - what a great attitude you have. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm a native Californian and I lived in your town for a couple of years before moving to NM. When I sold my house there I had to write a check to close escrow - that's how bad things were in real estate about 15 years ago. I do hope things are looking up for everyone here. Keep sharing your positive attitude with us.
