I just learned something that may not be clear so I wanted to share...
As everyone said you do have till June to meet your minimum but that doesn't mean you only have from Jan to June to get $300. This first quarter (Jan to March) doesn't count for anything. Any sales you get from this quarter won't roll over and count towards you grand total at the end of June.
I just signed up to be a demo also and didn't realize this when I did. HTH.

Is this right? Any sales from Jan-March don't count toward your first minimum? I thought they did count. I was under the impression that if you had $300 in sales in, say, January, you were good through June.
Yes, they do count. They just stop showing up on your quarterly totals, but if you call DS (demo support) they'll still have them there! They also count towards your stampin' start!
Don't be afraid!!!! The worst part is over now!!! From here on in it's just FUN!!
I signed up in August And I met my Stampin Start Promo quota 1800.00 by September and I still had to make my $300.00 quota again by December. Which was not heard I did $1600.00 that by the end of December. I only signed up to be a hobbiest. But I am sure after the end of SAB my sales will slow down dramaticly.
I just signed up in November... your first quarter period is a "freebie". You earn your sales and it counts towards your stampin start but you do not HAVE to make the minimum in the quarter that your sign up.
I signed up Nov 2nd. I did not have to have any sales to remain active in the quarter that ended Dec 31. Now that it is January and we are in a new quarter, I have to have $300 in sales before the end of March to stay active.
One cool thing is that you have the remainder of the month you signed up in PLUS the next three months to get your Stampin' Start. Since I signed up Nov 2 I have all of November plus Dec, Jan, Feb. I already make my sales SS and am hoping to have a recruit before the end of Feb to get the other two free sets.
Don't be nervous! Especially if you have friends or family who are interested in stampin' and scrappin'. They'll probably host parties for you and that's a great start. My friends have been really supportive. And really, the product sells itself. I'm in my last year of medical school and am SUPER busy, but I got hooked on stamping b/c I could do it with special people (mom, sister, friend) while being productive (making thank you notes and birthday gift items), and love that people feel I cared enough to take time from my busy schedule to make them somthing unique. ADDED BONUS- I don't eat while I stamp.... hmmm... that's probably the ONLY time I don't eat! Best Luck! Definately sign up for the demo forum at SCS when you get your demo ID#. Everyone here is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS. Join a swap if you can early on to get lots of card samples- I did one for SAB and it was really helpful since I didn't have time to make samples for my parties since I've been traveling around for residency interviews the past two months. Just some advice.
You do have till the end of June like everyone said. The first quarter is a freebie though. So you have till June to make your $300 minimum. You also have until the end of April to make your $1,500.00 Stampin Start to earn 2 FREE stamp sets any price out of the catty!! Enjoy I have been a demo now for 1 year (Saturday was my Anniv date!) now and love it.. mostly a hobby demo but still have fun doing it!
It USED to be that the sales during the first partial quarter would not carry over to apply towards the required minimum of your first full quarter. THAT HAS CHANGED, though. About a year ago I think. It may not reflect that in your sales figures that you see when you sign in, but that's just a computer glitch. Call DS if you are in doubt, but if you sign up today, sell $300 tomorrow, you have met your minimums through JUNE.

Good Luck to you both!
That is incorrect. If you placed $1800 by September you would not have to have had an additional $300 by the end of December. If you look in the one of the back issues of Stampin' Success in the back I think it is explained there. It used to be like that up until this past year or so. They have made it now so that the first quarter you sign up in will also go towards the quarter you need to make your first minimum. If they told you that you also had to have an additional $300 then you received the wrong information. It looks like you had no problem getting it anyway, though.
so good to here!!! i sent my paper work in on thurs and i know my first personal order will be for over $400 retail so it is good to know that I am good until June!!!!! YIPEEE!!!!

I am excited about doing all this. I love Stampin Up! products so much that I can't wait to tell everyone else about how much fun they can have too. However I guess I need to get over my shyness. LOL

Oh that is good to know. I will have to let my upline know they had changed this rule. Thanks for correcting me!
