Default Copics Question

I have been using Copics for several years now but I never wanted to do this before... can I color on top of heat embossing with my Copics w/o hurting them?

TIA for your help!

Sylvia

From what I understand, it is bad for your nibs if you touch the embossed line with them.

I have a MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented). I stamp the image with a Copic friendly ink (Memento ink, My Favorite Things hybrid ink, etc.), leave the stamp on the MISTI while I color the image with my Copics, restamp the image with pigment ink then heat emboss. See my 'BFFS' card in my gallery.

I just decided today to buy one of those. Thanks for the great idea! This thing sounds like it will be awesome. I had it in my head you weren't to use Copics with ep but I wasn't sure.

Yes, I've colored on top of my clear ep- and sequins, and gems and buttons. If you go back and forth, it does not lay down in a solid form and will pick up the dry ink- so just color with one swipe motion and not a back and forth motion (similar to a dry-erase marker).

I made a card awhile ago and used white embossing for the image. Using white embossing powder, the copic color stuck to the embossing. I had to redo my image and use SU markers to color the image.

I tried embossing a card then coloring with copics and the embossing powder came off!

Cute card and great idea for embossing AFTER you color - this is one of those times when you slap yourself on the head and ask yourself, "Why didn't I think of that?"

If you're on FB, there's a page, MISTIfied, that you might like! I'm going to share your tip there (and give you credit, of course!)
