Talking Best Compliment EVER

I was working on figuring out a card for my MIL; and trying to design for a 5x7 size so it will look more like a "real" card.
My son, who is 15, asks why I'm making it bigger than usual so I tell him the "real" card reason.
His response?? "WHY? Your homemade cards are so much better than store bought anyway"!

We have all talked about how family and friends don't seem to appreciate our craft, or can even be downright mean and dismissive of what we make.

I don't care if I never get another compliment on my card making again! I just got the best one E-V-E-R. Excuse me...I need to go find a tissue.....

Awe how heart warming! You're right, sometimes we don't get much validation so it's extra special when we do!

High praise indeed to get such a comment from any teenager, let alone a male. Congratulations. That should be put on a plaque and hung in your craftroom forever.

That is SO sweet, especially coming from a boy! He values what his momma does and not just what he does for her - that is awesome!

Aww - probably best not to let him know he's smothered in virtual hugs about now as we all appreciate thoughtfulness in a teenage boy!

I guess your son wouldn't want a hug from an old duck living in Australia , but I'm sending him one anyway!! TFS

That says something to me about how you raised him...to be empathetic and verbally supportive. Very cool!! Esp as said during those years when they are "too cool for school" and dont like mush. Kudos!

Well done to you and your son! The simplest to the most ornate homemade card will always hold more meaning than a store bought one...as you are gifting your time, talent, and attention to that person as you make it.

I have found that my biggest 'fans' are male, and they tend to spend far more time 'studying' my work then females...this is not fact based just my observation lol!

I have discovered the same thing. The guys turn the card, look at an angle, ask questions. And these are the same guys who couldn't find something if it were right under their noses usually LOL.
