Yo Yo Yellow was my favorite. Only Orange was the go to color for Halloween. I suppose for everyday stamping both of those colors were too harsh. We may be in the minority for liking theses colors. Niki
The only one of those colors I would like back is Brilliant Blue. And not just because it's our school colors but I just really liked the color. As for the others, I have to say I was happy to see them go. It just wasn't my color family.

There are a few that met a certain need, for sure. But I do like that they freshen things up. I think I would lose interest if the colours had stayed the same since I started stamping in 2004.
I must admit, I rarely used those colors. Except for Brilliant Blue and YoYo Yellow which were our local school colors. Also my niece's school colors. And several other friends/families' school colors. So I really only miss those right now!
However, I still have quite a bit of leftover paper I'm slowly using up. I do make kids' birthday cards using the brighter shades.
They had their use certainly, however, I love the new colors. I think there are great colors for children's cards and birthdays. I have all the new and still have all my old colors, I never seem to use them though.
I miss Green Galore. I used it a lot. I still have a stash of it, but I don't know what I'm going to do when it runs out! I miss Brilliant Blue too. The other two I used most are the two that have stayed - Tempting Turquoise and Real Red.
I most miss a lot of the Soft Subtles that they retired - sage shadow, moss, lavender lace, pale plum, and now bashful blue & pretty ink pink.

I still have a soft Subtle stash too but I never use them for fear of running out...It is so silly...I stock up on the retired colors and then can't bring myself to use them....

I don't miss them, but our kids are grown and I don't have school colors to deal with anymore. 4 years ago I got all the variety packs of their color groups and the Bold Brights was my least favorite. I bought separate packs of just the red and blue and hardly used any of the others. When they redid all the colors in 2010 I had most of the new Brights already-I had got them separately when they were InColors.
