The only thing that's stopping me from buying any more is that my designated space for 6x6 pads is full. So I HAVE to use one up before I can get any more. I never thought I would say this, but I actually reached a point where I can't buy patterned paper at all right now. When I get rid of a few pads, and a few 12x12 SU packs, then I'll allow myself to get some more, but not for a while.

I love 6 x 6 pads! i like making cards with them because it is so easy to match the papers. I was tickled to see the new Authentique Renew is also being offered in 8x8. That is really my favorite size.
You would not believe how many pads i have in my private stash......lol.
Blessings

I love doing the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges (HYCCT). As an extra challenge to myself I try to make as many cards as I can with one collection of papers. With over 30 challenges with HYCCT its a good way to get a big tasty bite out of those paper pads. Once I have got the most use out of a pad I will purge the left overs and make room for something new.
I love 6x6 pads too!

I just recently discovered that I have been infected. I love MME pads but only the 2 sided, I find it much easier to use the entire sheet and mix patterns that I would have never thought of!

I, too, am an addict but I am trying so hard to kick the habit!! LOL. I recently made a designated spot for my pads. I have space to buy about two, maybe three, more then I must use or purge. I am no longer saving small scraps. I know it is wasteful, but when I recently purged my room I literally filled up two giant trash barrels full of scraps!!! I recycled them, but it was difficult to do that!!! I am accepting the fact that I must get out of saving mentality and recycle more freely (and often) now.

I love these small paper pads as well. My favorite size is 8X8. I love taking an 8X8 pad or a 6X6 pad and making a scrapbooking (12X12) layout with it. I have to have at least one sheet of 12X12 but the rest comes from the littler pad. I find it fun to think of ways to use the little pieces on a scrapbooking page!

And a bunch of scraps.
I will use up at least one whole pad in 2013. I'm determined. I will conquer my supply of 6 by 6 paper!
That's all...back to getting crafty. :p |
An excellent way to cheat is to go through every pad and pull out at least two patterns you don't like (or don't like as much as the others). Put them together as your own curated collection and resell them on eBay or Etsy. In fact opening an Etsy shop just for the purpose of destashing is a great idea.
You can use the money to buy new pads only if you do a new curated collection from the new pads. Anything that does not sell can be donated to a local Boys and Girls club or a domestic violence shelter.
Problem solved!

Well, no not the ugly ones! It's OK to get rid of the ugly ones - you didn't give birth to them you bought them. If getting rid of the ugly ones can get you new ones I say round them up and move 'em out!

i've been collecting them too! I have found that ACMoore wants $3.99 compared to Michaels $5.99. Michaels is usually cheaper around here. If I am shopping with a coupon and can't find anything else, I will usually buy a paper pad. I also only buy double sided because if I don't like one side, I usually do the other. I didn't know they made 8x8....will have to check into that.

I have a suggestion that will burn through the patterned paper and you'll make some kids really excited at the same time. I've been making altered composition books for all my daughter's friends for birthday gifts. They're inexpensive for ALL those parties, the large composition books use 2 sheets of patterned paper, and they are often the favorite gift at the parties. One girl even told my daughter that she couldn't wait to invite DD to her party so she could get one! You can find really cheap notebooks in all sizes and could even use up the 6x6 pages you've got. Nothing says the front and back have to be the same paper even. I don't do much embellishment for the kids since I want it to be really usable and durable. Next fall I plan on giving each student in my 2 DDs classes their own notebook and matching pencil (I break off the plastic tab on a mechanical pencil and cover it).
Oooohhh...think how much paper you could use up with a desk set and what a great gift. Altered composition book, pen or pencil, coordinating notecard set. I have some gifts to complete!

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes. I am an addict. Now that the three "big box" craft stores very near me started carrying more 6 x 6 pads by companies I LOVE; like Authentique, My Minds Eye....I've amassed quite a collection. For Christmas alone I bought SIX new Christmas pads....and only used about 1/3 of a sheet of 4 different pieces of 6 x 6 on cards. Most of my cards were simple designs with some sponging and stamping.
Today, I went to Hobby Lobby just to BROWSE ( so dangerous ). Picked up some adhesive I needed, and a larger sized Happy Birthday stamp ( also needed ) then wandered over to the paper aisle. Telling myself the whole time "you don't need any more paper, you have SO MUCH you haven't used..." But then I noticed the 50% off sign, and a darling little 6 x 6 pad in creams and blacks that was all journal and ledger sheet prints....into my cart it went!! I'm hopeless! :-)

I just bought Kaisercraft :Just Believe 6+1/2" pad and a Glitx 6" pack called Joyeux Noel. They were 50% off so couldn't resist. Where do I go to search to see if there are ideas?

you simply cannot get rid of the "ugly" ones. As soon as you do someone will make a project that has to have THAT pattern.

Thanks. You mentioned thanks to SCS, so I am wondering if you searched for that on here and if so, where do I go to do the search?
Thanks

I don't hoard paper but I always have way too much. The last few times I've gone shopping I've told my daughter and/or my mother (whoever is with me) they are NOT to let me buy more paper. But I do. And I get SU DSP all the time. In fact, there is more on my wish list for my next order. It's scary! I have used up several packages this year, but there is still so much!

I will say it does help to have a daughter that crafts too. When I get a new pad, I always tear out a sheet from each pattern to give to her.

i didn't hard mine but I would forget to use them so I stopped buying them and now I store the sets in my scrap paper drawers by color. I use scraps first so now I'm using them up. It's still a challenge not to buy them

paper pads
Wow, It's been ages since I've posted here! But I had to reply to the paper pad deal. I'm glad I am not the only one with this addiction. I love paperpads of all sizes. I love paper anyway and to get a pad of adorable paper on sale....well it just does crazy things to me!
I do get rid of mine sometimes though....when our scrapbooking group at c
hurch gets low on paper, I weed through mine and let some go! Which of course that leaves room for more! And I feel better because I donated to a good cause! ;)
Have a happy new year ladies!

If you know someone that makes cards also you could do what my friend and I do. If we buy a paper pad we split up the paper. If it has 4 of the same sheet we each get 2. If 2 sheets the same we each get 1. It allows us to have a bigger variety without each of us purchasing the same paper pad.

Hello, my name is Penny and I'm a Paperholic! I am on a paper buying diet myself. I love paper and have way too much, so I am not buying any right now. I am working on going through one pack at a time and making as many cards as I can. I started out as a scrapbooker so I have a LOT of 12x12 - cardmaking has taken me over. You have to make a LOT of cards to use up 12x12 paper.

Hi Amber, I saw the cards to troops on you signature. I have a box of handmade cards I can send you if u want them. It is all kinds. I was gonna donate the somewhere around here but the troops would be better. Just let me know. Either here or my email is [email protected]
Just make sure you put cards for troops or something like that in the subject line so I will know. I get so much junk mail.
Blessings.....Joy
