I ordered from Simon Says Stamp 13 days ago and my order still is listed as "processing". I only have 4 items in my order so it isn't a large order. At the time of my order all items were listed as in stock and my payment method has been charged. I contacted customer service and have not heard back from them. I am wondering if they are way behind on orders or if this is just my order that seems to have fallen through the cracks?
Thanks for your reply. My order has not been mailed out yet, so I guess it will be over 15 days, but it is good to know that they are really behind at Simon.
I laughed out loud yesterday when I received an email from Simon Says Stamp asking for review of the products I ordered. I still haven't received my order!! Even Simon apparently thinks I should have received my order by now.
My experience with Simon is that they ship later...a week or more to shipping...and then they take longer in the mail, since they don't ship priority. Their packaging is also a little on the marginal side. My recent order from them (Ellen was out!) was 3 Distress oxide inks, a jar of mica flakes, a stencil, and two bottles of glue. It was shipped in a lightweight small tan padded envelope. Not impressed with them.
My fave store is Ellen Hutson. Anything I order from her is here within 6 days. Of course, Ellen doesn't carry the Simon branded stuff, so...
I just got 2 orders from them this week that were ordered about 12 days ago. This time of year things are taking longer to get here. by the time the tracking number worked I got them. Even thou they take a little longer than some coupanies I like them.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. It makes me feel like this is more common than I thought. Both of my packages now look like they will not arrive until possibly the 23rd or later. That makes it a full month to get my order. But, they also marked an item I purchased, that was listed as in stock when I placed my order, as back ordered. Then they finally notified me the back ordered item had shipped, but in reality they had only printed a shipping label. They then held onto the package for a full 5 days before getting it into the USPS shipping system!?!
I share the feeling that Ellen Hutson is SO much better. I should learn my lesson for next time.
I have had some of the same issues with SSS. I tend not to order things I need right away from them. It's just like Joann's - their shipping is very slow too. I do think with the increase of online buying due to COVID, all deliveries are taking longer. I know I ordered for the first time from Hello Bluebird a few weeks ago hoping that I would get it within a couple of weeks. I just received an email that my order is on it's way. When I checked the tracking, it looks like just the label was created, USPS is still awaiting item.
I am Canadian, my orders from SSS take a minimum of a month. I have never had an issue with packaging though. I too received a request to review my last order, which I am still waiting for. I order from them because their shipping price to Canada is very reasonable (unlike other companies). I have also ordered from scrapbook.com, reasonable shipping and I do receive it a lot quicker. I would much prefer to support a local store, but non existent in my area.
I ordered the new monthly card kit, released midnight, Dec 14. My order was about an hour after that. I received it today, Dec. 19. Frankly, I was surprised it was delivered that quickly, considering the current state of USPS.
I order from SSS a lot. Mostly because I can get a variety of products and brands and only pay one shipping cost.
Pre-COVID and non-holiday times a typical order for me would take about a week to “process” then another week from when they say it shipped to get to me.
On 11/27 this year I actually placed two separate orders. Taking advantage of some Black Friday prices and on the first order I forgot to add a few consumable items I’m running out of like Distress Collage Medium.
The first order I placed that day was over $160, the most expensive order I’ve placed in awhile. It included a set of Karin markers ( Merry Christmas to me! ).
The second order placed a few hours later only had 3 smaller items.
The expensive order took the longest to process. And then the tracking info had it arriving and staying stuck in Cincinnati, OH for two weeks!
Both the post office and SSS are running short staffed right now because of COVID.
Plus so many more people shipping things for the holidays this year.
My package arrived by 12/21 so all is right with the world.
I'm glad to hear your got your order and happy to report, I too received my order. It took 29 days to receive both packages. I had only placed one order and everything was "in stock", but in reality it was not in stock. I have complete understanding of delays from USPS. They were working under extremely difficult conditions and I know that they got it to me as fast as possible. If SSS had sent it out in a timely fashion the USPS issue would not have existed. It should have been mailed in late November or early December.
I guess I am starting to get tired of some companies that suggest shipping delays are the fault of the USPS, when they are actually not sending things in a timely fashion. I love sales as much as anyone, but I think it is time to have less sales and send things out when the order is received, hire more staff, or somehow figure out how to send items so it takes less than a month for a customer to receive an order.
I wish the "like" button wasn't missing. I would click it for your post, Annie, for sure!
It's not just stamp companies who lay the blame on USPS for their sloppy shipping practices. But some companies are notorious for said sloppy shipping practices. I won't regale you with some of the examples I experienced this Christmas season.
I'm guessing a lot of the delays are because many American companies get their goods from China. They blame the postal service because their stock from China is coming slower than normal.
If that is truly the reason for the late deliveries, then I'd understand -- especially if companies were up front and honest about the delays. But in Annie's case, the items should not have been listed as "in stock" when they were not.
