None of those things really found their way into my projects. I use the occasional bird or owl but just because they were cute for the project I was doing. Never got into the mustaches(and still have NO idea what THAT was about!) or the cages, etc.
Never did like cupcakes, owls, or the 'stash. But I'll always love birds. Yeah, owls are birds, but I never really embraced the owl image in my paper crafts a whole lot. Didn't buy the punch, either.
I still like doilies, used sparingly, and I like vintage, but have decided that I'm more of a homespun/primitive style vintage rather than an over-the-top Victorian ephemera vintage, if that makes sense to anyone but me. ;)
I bought the owl punch, used it once and never used it again.
Have you seen all the other things you can make with the owl punch?
I've done a few owl cards and love my Young Vermillion bird. Didn't invest in the cupcake punch though I've liked a lot of what I've seen with it too!
I didn't get the mustache thing either!
I like the birdcages that I've seen.
I used some mustache paper and rub ons for father's day. My father could never grow a mustache of his own so I sent him card with his very own mustache.
I still love owls and birds and cages (but I am owned by pet birds, so I will always like birds and owls).
I'm not so much into cupcakes, unless it's someone's birthday.
Owls, yes. I thought I was late jumping onto the trend when I finally bought my second owl stamp but it's lasted a long time. I used to make a lot of owl cards for a friend of DH's who had cancer, but she died earlier this year. I still know plenty of people who like them, though. They're good for guy cards, too.
Cupcakes - no, I was never into them. I have one single cupcake stamp in a Hero Arts set somebody gave me - it gets worked to death for any challenge that calls for one.
Birds, yes - you can never have too many birds!! Birds and music, even better... But not in cages, as a rule. I did buy the Spellbinders cage dies, though .
Moustaches, no, no and no. I like them on guys- DH has one (and beard), and we used to know somebody with the most fantastic handlebar moustache. But anywhere else - no thanks, not for me.
Are you still "into" ....
owls
cupcakes
birds
birds in cages
mustaches
I am so far behind the times that I've not even started getting into these things. That's okay for me because the people who will get my card don't know what the trends are. :-)
Cupcakes & birds are for anytime.
I love the bird cage thing and plan to get a die do that early next year. LOL
I prefer mustaches on men rather than cards.
As for owls, well, in my parents neighborhood every household had a macrame owl on their wall in the 70s. And then, in the early 80s, my then boyfriend's mom made one for me. I never understood the attraction to owls ... except when they're hooting up in a tree.
Love owls..the real ones and would love more owl stamps; bird stamps and dies I love too as well as the bird cage die but would never put a bird in a cage! Cupcakes --no,no and no!! Same for moustaches even though DH has one.
My purchasing doesn't depend or reflect trends and tend to lean towards nature inspired images so plenty of trees, birds, butterflies and then script and music - all stamps. I love pairing birds or butterflies with either script or music.
I actually didn't get into any of those that were "in" last year. I was busy completing my master's in counseling. Now finally able to dust off my stamp room!

Here is a google link that shows a bunch of mustache cards ... and a few other things. One of the cards, on a site called Taylorstamped, was kind of cute--for a mustache card. https://www.google.com/search?q=must...O4OMigKW5Zz4Cw
That was a trend this past year?! That is the first time I've seen anything with a mustache! Except for all the Pringles cans I've munched on of course...;)

I've got a few cupcake sets and I do have the matching punch from SU for one of those sets. I never really thought of it as a trend. I just use them for birthdays and probably always will.
I have one owl stamp I got through the pay it forward thread that I love. Birds in cages? Not for me.
Mustaches-ick

Still into owls, birds, bird cages. I will always love birds. I love bird cages because I love home and furniture stamps.
Cupcakes are cute but I don't eat so I am not inspired by them.
I will admit I don't understand the mustache craze. That one confused me. I am sure there is a cool trendy reason behind it. Nobody told me though, lol.
Doilies- I do love them. I just bought Hello Doily. I just can't stamp trends. I admire everyone who can. I go off on my own tangent when I am creating.
The following items were really "big" this past year.
Are you still "into" ....
owls
cupcakes
birds
birds in cages
mustaches
What else?????
I don't think I ever really got into any of them. I have one cupcake die, the owl punch, and one owl stamp set I bought 3 years ago. I like & use them all - mostly on cards for my nieces & nephews who are all still quite young & are pleased as punch to get fun cards in the mail.

The mustache thing is funny....I remember getting my A Muse Studio catalog and seeing the mustache stamp set and thinking "What in the world?! Why?!" LOL But I have seen some cute cards made with mustaches. Obviously great for guy cards and it's hard to find stuff for guy cards. Then SU came out with a mustache single stamp. It seems as tho "facial hair" was a thing this past year...from mustache stamps to "Whisker Wars" on IFC (Independant Film Channel). Yep, an entire show devoted to facial hair and the competitions people go to all around the world. Bearding is a sport, according to them!
I agree with some of the other things mentioned. Love birds. Love bird cages. Cant seem to use them on any of my cards. Oh well....
Cupcakes. Always liked them but again, have a hard time using them on cards. Made a couple of cute b-day cards with cupcakes tho the other day, so maybe I'm learning.
Owls. Love them. Never use them on cards.
And I agree with Mary Beth...I seem to be "vintage" or "steampunk" challenged on certain things. Cant seem to use keys, crowns, bees. Cant use pennants or balloons (hot air or otherwise).
I use cupcakes when I need a quick b-day card for someone last minute as they are gender neutral and kids love them too..As much as I may be bored with them sometimes, people love to buy them from me. I do birds often, some owls, but I have NEVER did a mustache.. That went past me..I don't think I would know what to use it for so I never bothered. I do a lot flowers, trees and nature things as they seem to be easy to incorporate to various occasions....
owls - never used them
cupcakes - once was cute, 100 times was not
birds - not really
birds in cages - SO OVER BIRDCAGES!!!
mustaches - still love 'em!
Hee, Hee, I love the mustaches, but I just haven't found a way to incorporate them into my cards. Owls kind of grew on me. Cupcakes, while fun, have kind of been over done for me. I'm way, way over the sock monkey that was hot for a while.
I love some of the trends coming around, like silhouettes, chevrons and foxes.
My daughter is a graphic designer and makes cards for one of the most trendy stores in Austin, Tx. Word on the street is that these trends are hot in the stores now: nautical themes, doodles, geometric prints, bacon, and narwhals.
I never did jump on the cupcake bandwagon. Maybe cuz I'm diabetic! I do still love anything with birds, and I'm nuts about trees and houses. Funny what we're attracted to! I really like circles too.
I bought the SU cupcake punch and have used it a few times, same as my Cricut Expression cupcakes. No birds or mustaches...what were they thinking with mustaches??

I am not nor ever have been "into" any of those trends and I will add kites, hot air balloons, pennants, crowns and keys to that list.
Mary Beth
I don't have any of the stamps you just mentioned, but I love kites, keys and hot air balloons. Loved them before they were trendy. And I plan to get a pennant die from stampin' up.
Isn't it funny how we each have our own likes and dislikes? I'm drawn to Victorian items, retro items, hearts and anything frilly and romantic. And I, too, love home items. I keep seeing couch and lamp stamps and have to remind myself that I have no use for such a thing. LOL
Why not? When cupcakes hit big in the food arena, stampers when nuts for cupcake stamps. It's logical that the new "in" food, bacon, will have an equally strong presence in stamps. I'm expecting to see more pig stamps now, too.
Mary Beth
I got Paper Smooches Wake Up set and it has bacon and eggs in it. I have been googling bacon and eggs and you would be surprised how many things do have bacon on them. Did you know there are bacon band-aids? LOL
