Are you a Polyshrink Goddess who has NEVER used Polyshrink?
I have NEVER used it. I don't even know where to get it! How do you use it (tips, techniques) and if you HAVE used it can you post links to some of the cards you have used polyshrink on?
I own some. I bought a package just before SU! retired it. But, I haven't used it yet! My plans for it are to make a journal book to adhere to a scrapbook page. I'm hoping I can print the journalling on the pages in large font using my printer, punch holes along the sides, then shrink it all to make a booklet bound with jump rings. I saw it in a Creating Keepsakes mag once - I really liked the look of it and it kept the journalling on the page nice and neat. I don't usually put a lot of journalling on a page, but this would be good for a page that requires a lot of writing. That's my plan. Hopefully I'll use that polyshrink one of these days!
I had some polyshrink in my craft closet; bought it (cause I HAD to have it) at a stamping show, then never used it. So, last year I joined up for a polyshrink swap figuring I'd find some new ways to use it.
My submission was so LAME compared to what others had submitted for the swap. BEAUTIFUL pieces of stamped objects on clear, white, opaque and black poly.
I don't use it much, but I have used it some since then. I've stamped flamingos, graduation caps, flowers, and other things (coordinating with my card of course), and used as charms.
I bought some too before SU retired it. I finally used it a week ago. It was my 4 yr old daughter's b-day and I had just gotten the Pretty Princess set. I made her the cutest opaque princess dangle earings. I stamped the princess in black stayzon ink and colored the back with sharpie markers. Put a small hole punch through the top and cut out the image and used my heat gun to shrink.....SO CUTE!!! If I wasn't so computer illiterate I'd download them, but I have no idea how to do that. I'm lucky to be able to just reply!!!
I had seen on a tv program where they made cute charms for bracelets. after they stamped (or colored) the image and shrunk it, they pressed it into a versa mark pad and then put clear embossing powder on it and heated it up. It looked raised and shiny, really cute! They have the shrink plastic at Roberts crafts. Try it...you'll like it!!!!

I use Lucky Squirrel brand. Several sites have it and so does Michaels and Ben's.
I really like it. I have used it on here in my gallery a couple of times.
It also makes cool jewelry and pins. It says you can heat it in the oven, but I use these plastic tweezers I bought from Suz Winesomething and heat it with my heat gun. LOL
My 10 yo DD and I use it all the time to make charms for cards. We use the $1 Michaels martini stamp, butterflies, flowers etc and then string them with beads when done. We make a bunch ahead of time so we can grab them when the mood strikes! You can also type out a letter then print it out on the special copier type polyshrink and mail it with a small magnifying glass. Kids love that because it's something different. You can get all kinds from Michaels. My demo also told me if you rub your work with the embossing buddy before shrinking it won't stick together when it curls.
Whoa, how did I get to be a polyshrink goddess already? I was something else the first time I read this thread yesterdayish, and now I'm a PsG! Do I get any special powers now? I'm just so pleased I got to vote in the poll!
I love it!! I used it on my Christmas tags last year. I have a really large poinsettia stamp, so I did it on shrinky dink plastic, shrunk it and attached it with a brad. I'm going to try to post a thumbnail
I had to put no because I have never tried it, but I am curious and would like to use it. I am on a strict budget tho' at the moment and just using all the junk I already own.

My demo gave me a retired sheet of polyshrink, so I have no excuse now to try it out. I will use any tips that are posted and hopefully end up with an uploadable creation. ;)
