I have a wish list of several Gina K stamp sets - haven't decided which ones yet if I only had $25.00. OR more of her ink pads. My kids chipped together and gave me three $50 gift cards to Gina K for Christmas. I have had a lot of fun with them deciding what to get.I spend them one at a time over a few months to make it last.

I would buy some markers or use it to help pay for a Cuttlebug machine.

Yikes. I don't think I can settle on anything!! Even if you give me $25 I need to be practical with it!

I could really use some rectangular nesting dies, like the Spellbinders A2 Card Creator sets. That would make me happy, I hate cutting mattes.

Definitely looking for recommendations on a craft mat... I saw in Lydia's craft room overhaul video that she uses a Teflon oven liner. Other suggestions? I've been using parchment paper, so anything is an improvement over that! I just want the best bang for my buck... I don't mind paying more for something if it's worth it, but I'm also all about thinking outside of the box and using what works best even if that's not the product's intended purpose.

I love it. That's what all craft mats are - but I like the one I got because it's black and about twice as thick so it doesn't curl.

I also bought the brown ones that are the same thing Ranger calls a craft mat. They're all great and uber cheap.

Teflon oven liner + a large cutting mat here. Problem is that my oldest mats are beginning to need replacing, but I haven't been able to find one of a similar quality. The ones I've found recently have more texture, my older ones are really smooth. If you can, open the pack and feel it, if you go down that route. Plus, it's pretty obvious, but make sure it's not a black one.

I don't know much about mats...I do have a ranger one and it's nice enough, but I get tired of it moving around on the table so easily. I saw a Heidi Swapp one on amazon that I'm wondering about, because in the reviews someone mentioned there is a non-slip backing but I can't find any video reviews on it or any other reviews...other than the 8 on amazon, so I don't know for sure if I want to try it yet. Would love something a little larger than my ranger mat, that won't keep moving around...a little heavier would be ok too. :-)

A non-slip back would be great - it moves around too much in my videos.

The ones I got on Amazon are much bigger than the Ranger ones - you can get various sizes.

I use a Wilton cake decorating mat. It's heavy, I can roll it up and it lays flat again.

A new stamp set!

Currently on my wishlist are:

All Booked Up (Papertrey) -- been on my list for quite a while
Bird Crazy (Tim Holtz) -- wanted this since I saw it on his blog
Triple Play Frame (gina K) -- this one I just added yesterday

Lydia, can you give us Amazon shoppers a link to the mats you got on Amazon?

I *think* Lindsay, The Frugal Crafter (she has an awesome YouTube channel) did a video about how she put her non-Ranger craft mat onto something that doesn't move. Or was that Jennifer McGuire? They're very different in video style and personality, but I love watching them both on YouTube. Lindsay just got her Silver "Play" Button from YouTube for hitting over 100,000 subbies! :-) She's a real hoot!! :-)

I've wondered if I could paint that stuff you put on the back of rugs to make them non skid...onto the back of my mat, but didn't want to ruin it, so haven't looked into that yet. Course who knows, maybe I'll WANT it to move easily sometimes...so will wait to do something like that till my hubby gets my craft table built. That way I can see how things work when I have more space to work. :-)) Right now I'm using the back of my hubby's desk, as it's right next to mine, but that means I only have a foot or foot and a half depth to work on...which just isn't enough at times. LOL I will go try and find a video on how to make it non skid too...since you know there is one out there. :-)) thanks!

I think you're thinking of the Jennifer McGuire video where she glued her Teflon craft mat onto her self-healing cutting mat. I think she used spray adhesive. I don't have any right now, but I sure would like to try that technique because the mat sliding around drives me crazy!

Mary Rose, I bought those watercolors after hearing Jennifer McGuire's all-out endorsement of them (and the Peerless Watercolors too - those two are her absolute favorites). I got them on Amazon and they are AMAZING. SO CREAMY! Well worth the $$, in my opinion!! :-)

Oops, I had speed-read and didn't see that you like your black one .
Umm, I think it's because I use mine a LOT for wrinkle free distress, so I need to be able to see where I have pressed each stamp pad down. I tried a black one when I first got one by mistake, and just couldn't get used to it, so any other black ones go straight to the kitchen. I have a sort of grey/silver heavy-duty one that is for lining the base of an oven, I might get one of those to try up here.
The one that was too textured for me to like; well, it tore in two anyway along the fold line. Half of it got stapled onto my homemade hot glue-gun stand, so it's easy to clean up any drips from that .

I'd buy a shelving unit for my stamp room. Although I would need to add a little bit more money to it.

Currently I'm saving up money to build my new stamp room. Already have two full walls. But I need two other walls. My new room will be 9ft x 7 ft.

Looking to add movable walls.

Ha. I do not "need" someone to give me $25, but appreciate the sentiment!! I recently retired and must be more selective and patient. Plus, I don't have much storage space, so that helps me wait before I buy too much. Sort of...

Joan I think you need those watercolors for a retirement present.

I would buy a Mama Elephant die with my $25, though it is $28 so I would have to pay an additional $3. However it is sold out at the moment! (Sew Fancy Creative Cuts: Sew Fancy - Creative Cuts | Mama Elephant

I also really want those Bird stamps from Tim Holtz as well as the botanical frame stamp. And tons more Lawn Fawn... and other stuff as well. I have $100s of dollars of items on my wish list.

Ok, so I'm into my next $25.00+. I ordered the Butterfly thinlets and stamps.

Which set of the Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints would you get if you were going to buy them?

I have the 36 set and I would recommend those (of course lol!) But seriously, fabulous array of colors and I love the clear sparkle and gold in that set. These are a good enough product that I say go for the biggest set you can afford, you won't be sorry!
