because it says WWJD and that leads one to the fact that it IS intended to be a cross, not an "X"
And I, and I'm sure many others, are perfectly aware that He wasn't alone in dying on a cross, however I don't recall any CATS being crucified... it's distasteful and disrespectful to those of us who revere and praise Him.
Sorry, I stand by my feelings... that card is offensive to me.

1. Of course I'm more defensive because I know her. I'm willing to admit that.
2. I'm not comfortable with the cat one either, what I protest is the implication that she shouldn't be free to post it.
I swore I wasn't going to post to this thread again, but alas....
I NEVER said she shouldn't post it. I never once said I thought any less of the person who made it, or made any comment regarding her personally. I simply said the card itself was offensive to me....
sorry, AGAIN, that's just how I feel...
and for what it's worth, I happen to think the tampon one is funny... not something I'd send, but funny....
AND, as to your other post...
there was, at the time I clicked on the link in this thread, NO WARNING about what would be shown... and I did NOT see the warning on the other site when I clicked on the WWJD card... I clicked on a thumbnail from the tampon card page that took me directly to the cat card....
ok, now I'm done....
sorry I was offended... feel free to post anything and everything you like, but don't expect everyone in the world to swoon all over it... that's not how it works....
I can't stop laughing! That's some seriously funny stuff.
And while I appreciate and respect everyone here who didn't appreciate her humor or found her cards offensive or tasteless, there are more serious things going on in this world right now to get so riled up about. No need to vilify the creator of these cards. Let's just all move on. No one was forced to browse her site.
OMG!!!!! For those of you with sick minds, I implore you to visit the www.tamponcraft.com website. I actually cried I laughed so hard. For those of you who are easily offended, don't go! Its offensive to religions and basically eveything else! You've been warned, seriously.

Thanks to your vouching for this site, I checked it out -- thank you!! The creators are pure gold!! TOTALLY got a MUCH-needed laugh, and I also got to post a link (with thumbnails!) on the Facebook walls of a couple of friends.
Just wondering if anyone who clicked on the link read this below the WWJD card:
A little Jesus crime from 2003:
After watching the presidential debate Thursday night, two UNC students ended up slapping each other while fighting over who Jesus would vote for in the election. According to a police report, the concept of "turning the other cheek" came up, and James Robert Austin, 19, of 1305 Granville Towers West in Chapel Hill, slapped Robert Brooks Rollins, 22, of 104 Brewer Lane in Carrboro, on the cheek at Rollins' house.
After that, Rollins slapped Austin, and Austin landed on the concrete patio, possibly striking his head, according to the report. Rollins called for an ambulance, which took Austin to UNC Hospitals to be examined.
Neither Rollins nor Austin wanted to pursue the matter further, the report said.
I find something like that much more offensive than a card. I rather got the impression she was poking fun at the political side of it.

the thumbnail I followed from the original link doesn't take you to her blog, it takes you to etsy... no warning that you "may" be offended... no "explanation' behind the card... just the card...
I invite you to look, don't look, be offended, be amused, be disgusted, be amazed, be shocked, be humored, U can be whatever you want to be - nothing in this thread or anything that anyone wrote offended me - I wanted to invoke strong reactions with the challenges. I got what I wanted. Feel free to say anything or everything about them and how they make you feel - that's why I did them! You are all invited to slam them or laugh at them. I make them because I can, it's provocative art. They started out as a Twisted Sentiments Card Challenge on another site. Quite honestly the response here was so tame, I expected much more mud slinging. And now I'm off to look at the tampons for hopefully more material and if the mods want them out of the SCS gallery that's ok (no hard feelings) you have my permission to delete them.
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me

Well said! I am always amazed at some of the "heated" responses on this (and ALL!) sites. I appreciate your response, your honesty and understanding that your art will create very different responses by different people which often occurs when people become creative
Wow, this and yesterday's thread about the t-shirts has brought me out of hidding, so here goes.....
I have been a demo for a few years now and love SCS website, but the more I read on these threads have made realize I am addicted to the drama just like a daily soap, (why I am not looking the gallery for ideas anymore and going straight the forums talk).....I want inspiration not exasperation on SCS.
I don't normaly post but here goes...
The reason that I don't post or have a gallery is that I can't truely believe how you all go off on your personal tangents about about religion, freedom of speech and bashing each other. Why aren't you making something creative, innovative, and sharing your personal talents with the rest of the of SCS members rather than wasting my time and yours.
Do I want to look at the galleries of all the zealotes who have posted here from right to left? Probably not, because if what I read in these threads are true then I don't want to see your opinons inbedded in what you create!
I will look harder before I try to find any inspiration from those who subscibe here for such nonsense and engage in "harassment" for someone's statement through thier art.
I don't want the baggage.... that you all push upon each other,
So put on your big girl panties on and get over yourselves. Be a positive participate in the creativity that SCS was created for! The passion for stamping, scrapbooking, creating and sharing that passion.
There is enough stress in this world why bring it to what is the biggest "stress-reliever" I know sharing what I love - STAMPING -unite not divide, you are the support system we have from a community of creativity... if you disagree with others creative efforts, don't comment use the those emotions to bring more to all of us who look for inspiration, not damnation!

I am so glad I'm not the only warped mind here. The toupee.....what color hair dye do ya think they used? I forwarded it along to my mom who loved it. She said that site was a keeper. And to think I have two small kids I'm raising! More warped mind just like mine! What will the neighbors think?
AUstamper was not the only one whose blog was spammed.
I also got a comment from one of the "ladies" here.
Too bad a usually nice place like SCS can get ruined by people who love to spout about "freedom of speech" but only apply it to those who agree with them.
Also interesting that the spammer is going "anonymous"- a hypocrite AND a coward.
And THAT is even more disgusting and offensive than the cards.
You know, all I said on this thread is that some of her cards weren't my cup of tea. I even said that I found some of them funny. Then some anonymous person from here goes and posts this on my blog under one of my class projects:
"Hmmmm.....gross...not my cup of tea!"
WTH? Was that necessary? What an immature thing to do. I don't venture onto the general side of these forums often, and now I wonder if I should even bother at all. :(
It is interesting how many people were disgusted by the tampon card. I work in the medical industry and menstration, periods, whatever you want to call it and tampons/pads are just part of a woman's life. Nothing to be ashamed of. It's just a natural part of the female body.
This reminds me of people who are freaked out talking about the vagina. They can barely say the word. Guess it is going to take some time before people are more comfortable with their bodies. Somehow I don't think this card would not have elicted the same reponse in more liberal countries like The Netherlands or France.
That said, this card would probably only be appreciated by a small segment of the population.
