What in the world can you do with years of issues of stamping magazines? I have some since the premier issue. I have tons of old scrapbooking magazines as well. Is it worth trying to sell them or are they just recycle material?

Go through them and pull out any ideas you want to try, then they hit the recycle bin!

I recently went through mine - all the way back to 2003. Pulled out the pages I liked of layouts, cards, sketchs and took them to the school's recycle bin.
I am putting the pages I kept in page protectors and into a binder. 1 3" in all it took.

I kept a couple of special issues too, but then donated the rest to the Goodwill. I found that most of the styles were dated and not something I would use. Also, to me, its easier to look on this website for ideas.
After a few years, I just tear out the pages of interest to me and trash the rest. I find the card layouts never go out of style. I'm only interested in layouts and not the products used or colors. I choose my own.
I, too, found myself in the same boat earlier this summer when I moved and realized I had way too many card/scrap/beading magazines. Every night, I went through a stack of about 20 and ripped out the projects I liked (which oddly enough weren't very many). I then stuck them in magazine holders and sold them at a garage sale - $0.25/magazine or $4 for the entire magazine holder. They all sold!
It depends on the magazine. I often see old issues of Somerset Studio selling on eBay for at least $5.00 each. But there may be less demand for other magazines.
When I decided to get rid of all my old issues of RubberStampMadness, I offered them for free on Craig's List. The new stamper who got them was very excited.

I do the same thing!! The ladies where I work tease me by saying that I scrapbook my card making!! So nice to see that I am among others like me on this site So happy I came here
I keep all the previous calendar year issues and the current year issues. In Jan, I'll throw the "previous" previous year in the recycle bin and start over again. This way, I always have a small stash of relatively current inspiration.
I do keep special issues, particularly ones that have gift or holiday ideas in them.
I have the same problem. Years and years of beading and stamping mags. My other problem though is that sometimjes I'll go through one and find an idea that I hated last year and now I absolutely love it. I never know whats going to strike my fancy....hence the years of accumulated mags. Argh, wish I could just break down and get rid of them. I've tried and it never works. :(
I'm not much help.
Good Luck
Debbie
What a relief it was to get two giant boxes of magazines out of my house and into the recycle bin. I saved a few CK issues and most Scrapbooks, Etc., (my fave) bur all stamping magazines hit the road. You will feel liberated and if it looks daunting to go through them all, just skip that step and recycle.

You might consider asking local nursing homes or your hospital. Our's like to have current magazines on hand for visitors/patients. Your's may not be current, but I'm sure there will be many visitors who would be interested in going through them while they're waiting. Maybe some teachers would like them for ideas for art class.
I also sold mine for 2/$1 at a garage sale and did well with that offering.
