Hey there!

Does anyone know of some good stuff to do with a xyron machine. Dont laugh at me but i was at a craft store today and bought the Xyron 500 because it was only 11 dollars! They had used it for a class and marked it WAAAAY down and I knew it was a steal..now what to do with it?!

Boy, I use my baby xyrons ALL the time! I have a 150, 250 and 500. One of the things that's fun to do, aside from the obvious of using it to put adhesive on a layer, is to put adhesive on the image side and then put glitter, beads, whatever on it. Very quick and easy!

I also send through ribbon, sometimes 3 and 4 at a time, to make it easy to apply it to a card. I am sooooo bow challenged that lots of times I just lay ribbon down in a straight line rather than tye a dorky bow...

Have fun!

Betsy

OMG... do the glitter puzzles! They are so much fun! Totally easy with the Xyron! I can't make a accordian card anymore without doing a Beate glitter puzzle! People just die when they open them up.... and the glitter is totally contained! I use my Xyron all the time! Love the little mini one too!

Go..... get your glitter! ;)

Happy Xyroning,
~C

I just used my Xyron last night to adhere microbeads to a tag. Loved it!
Also, I use my Xryon and apply the adhesive on a large piece of paper, then use that paper when I want very thin strips of paper on a creation. It's a lot less messy than trying to use tape, or even a glue stick on thin strips.

So can I use the laminate one way cartridge then for the glitter puzzles? That was all that they had.....

The Xyron machines are these neat machiens that come in all different sizes and have different purposes for adhesives....laminating, stickers, banners, adhesive for scrapbooking, etc. My sister has one for stickers she bought a few years ago and i have always wanted to buy one.

I have not heard of them being discontinued..... I think they would have a riot on their hands...

I'm sure that you need the sticker cartridge for the puzzles.

If you go the gallery and type in glitter puzzle into the search, you will see many examples.

Have fun!!

A friend was going to purchase the Xyron 500 and was also told that one was being discontinued. BUT, there is a 510, and I THINK it takes the same size cartridges, but you should check to be sure.

I LOVE MY MACHINE!!!!! I have the 900 machine. I made a bunch of covered notebooks for teachers' gifts and I ran the back cover and top binding pieces through the Xyron--super strong adhesive!!! In addition to the possible craft uses, I used the laminating cartridge to laminate 1 each of all of my inspiration sheets to use at workshops!!! I also laminated my Stampin' Cafe sheets!!!!

Great machine, and I highly recommend it!!!
