I'd go with the craft pads as you can always use your blender pen and classic pads to create a marker effect. That is if you have the classic pads...just press on the lid when closed, open up and pick up the color with your blender pen, you can also use your reinkers if you have them. HTH

I would also get the markers. I have all of them and use them a lot for coloring in, writing, coloring directly on the stamp.
I have all classic ink pads, and do not feel the need to also get the craft pads.
Wow! There's a hard decision! I think it depends on which you would use more. I would probably go for the markers because you can use them for more and you would have all colors! But if you do alot of scrapbooking then you may want the craft pads for that and then use the difference to buy a single color set of the markers. Good luck!
I would say go with the markers. I personally do not care for the craft pads, because I do too much scrapbooking, and they do not dry fast enough for my likings. Just my 2 cents worth.

My advice is markers as well - unless you scrapbook and want to stamp in your scrapbooks. It gives you such variety of colors and they can easily be used direct to rubber. I am holding off on Craft Pads until the new catalog comes out. I am really hoping for a Craft version of Stampin Spots.
I would say the markers. I have all the classic pads and finally in January bought all the markers. I love the flexibility with them plus I am just loving them right now to do the smaking acetate.

what are YOU planning on using the craft pads for?? I had a cust who was thinking of getting the craft pads, and I asked her this, and she said "I don't know". I told her I thought it was a waste of money if she didn't have a use for them. I told her they would be in the catalog if the need arised and she could purchase them.
I do have a handful of craft pads, and the only one use I really use is the white. (I bought a few for a stamp camp and we stamped on the square kraft boxes...the craft pads show up better on kraft paper vs the classic pads).
I do use my markers much more than the craft pads!
