If I got it, I would keep it as a background stamp and when I needed an individual word I would stamp the whole stamp onto a spare sheet and then cut out the word I wanted and frame it on the card.
I didn't vote because I have had that stamp for what seems like forever and I haven't used it! What's with me? That is insane. I am never the type to buy a stamp and not use it! Should be my goal for the weekend.
I use it both ways too. I bought it with the intention of cutting it apart and then realized if I do that I can't use it as a background anymore (DUH!). So I left it together and like the others, just stamp/cut out the word I want to use.
I bought mine with the intention of cutting it apart; in fact, my DH made me little wooden blocks on which to mount them. This has been a couple of months and I haven't done anything with it. I'm caught in the middle -- do I leave as one or cut apart????
I just ordered it w/my preorder and will not cut it apart. I planned on stamping it and just cutting the words I needed out when not using it as a BG stamp. I loved the words on it and that is what sold me. I could use it as a BG stamp and use the words by themselves too. I can't wait to play around with it.
I left mine intact. I found that If I want just one word, it works really well to use a Versamarker, and emboss just the one word. It's easiest with words close to the edges, so that you can approximate the position on your card. I did that for a swap card I made.
I left mine in tact and figure it's easy enough to stamp just the word if I want it but I really like it as a background. I've never stamped just the word directly onto a card but I have cut them up and used them that way.
I left mine intact for quite a while. Didn't use it much because I hated cutting up the paper so I came up with an idea to cut up the rubber and mount on EZ mount. But first I stamped the image, using StazOn onto a clear plastic sheet, actually used shrink plastic. I reversed the image and mounted it onto the wood. Then I placed the cut up stamp on the plastic like a puzzle. I can, then use Word by Word as a background or pull off the one word I want to use.
