I love my Wink of Stella markers - especially the clear one - but they can be expensive. Now that Micheal's sells them, at least I can get them with a coupon. Last night, however, I discovered something really awesome. I was using my new watercolor markers (on watercolor paper), and I decided to add a little sparkle to them by outlining the images with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. Then I added a little water to get the glitter moving and blend it with my watercolored images. It looked just like I had used my Wink of Stella marker on it!
Now I can save my "good" markers for my "special" projects and use my glitter pens for just playing around. I'm thinking of doing a short video, but I don't know if many people would be interested. Anyhow, I thought I'd share this tip with my SCS friends.
Jennifer McGuire gave a hint that I have tried. If your WOS pen seems to have dried up, unscrew the top and remove the black thingy, add a little water and replace all the parts. Shake the pen and the shimmery stuff that had settle to the bottom will become suspended again. I am still using my first WOS clear pen and have had it a while and use it often.
I'm having trouble seeing the advantage of using the water with the Jelly Roll instead of coloring normally with the J pen by itself. Is it so you can cover a wider area more easily? I only recently started to use my sparkly Jelly more and just bought a clear stella pen. I really didn't see much difference between the two. TIA
While I've heard lots about WOS, I haven't bought any as I use my Jelly Roll Clear Star pen for the same results. Would love to see the video to make even more use of what I already have and not buy another expensive product. Thanks in advance.

This picture shows WOS on the largest flower and clear star on the bottom right flower. Clear star leaves a silvery coverage whereas WOS just leaves a glitter.

Yes, as Muscrat said, if you use the Gelly Roll pen by itself, the color covers up what you have already colored in. Even the "clear" one does that to an extent. I should have the video up by the end of the week.
Ladies, I'm afraid I won't be able to get to do a video for awhile. One of my bffs is in the hospital undergoing surgery right now. She's in critical condition, and my mind just can't focus on anything else. We've been best friends since we were 15, and I can't even imagine what my life would be like without her. If you're a praying person, please pray for her to make it through this, and for her family. Thank you for understanding.

Oh my gosh Jeanette - I'm so sorry! Hugs & prayers for both of you!
Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. I went to see her yesterday, and she was fairly stable. Last night she started breathing a little on her own (they have her on a breathing machine and dialysis). Please keep up the prayers. I think they're working.
The video is almost done. I just have to do the voice-over.
I only recently figured out that people do voice overs on the videos! I always assumed that the discussion took place as they did the video and then while watching one of Lydia's tutorials, I realized she was describing some things that she probably didn't realize had taken place as she video'd. (At least I think it was Lydia...could have been Jennifer McGuire too. I watch both of their videos as much as possible!)
