One of my favorite things about going through the gallery here on SCS is seeing all the different styles of stampers out there! Just a poll for fun... how would you describe your stamping style?
-Clean, simple, modern
-Vintage, distressed, layered
-Cute, whimsical, fun
-None of the above (please explain!)
-All of the above, it depends on my mood and the occasion
I'm fairly new to stamping and still developing a "style," so I'd have to say all of the above... how about you?
I chose all of the above. It definitely depends on my mood. Sometimes I wanna distress the heck out of a card...LOL....and other times I just like to sit, color and layer it all nicely.
It really depends on my mood. There are days I can picture something cutsie (like a baby card) and other days I come up with a surprise like a barb wire dragon. An idea strikes and you just have to follow it through, well, I do anyway..LOL

I do a mix of mostly two styles: whimsical (which I voted for) and elegant - which I think you should have an option for in your poll.
I like to do elegant(I also think you should have that as an option!), traditional, layered, pretty, simple, distressed in fact a combination of most of the things mentioned. Depends on the person I want the card for, the occasion and very definitely my mood! Not so into cutesy but I can do them if the occasion warrants.
I voted for all of the above. I depends on my mood and who I am making the card for. I have tried them all but I tend to lean more towards the clean and simple.

I voted clean and simple, 'cause that's what I love. But sometimes, I try to make a card for a person that reflects THEIR style, not mine, so I do experiment.

Mine can be cute, but, it's more often funny than cute, but you cold apply cute to it too, if you know my work, half of it tells a story and the other half are jokes or funny ways to use stamps!
I chose the last option. I used to do mostly florals, but I bought Best of Cluck and then Unfrogettable on a whim, and really enjoyed stamping with them.
Then I bought one little cheesecake mouse stamp from Penny Black, and that opened the flood gates! I don't seem able to stop buying all those cute little animals!

Clean & Simple. Not necessarily modern.
I try for elegant/classy usually.
Whimsical if the occation calls for it.
I do like layers, too.
This reads like I order from a menu.
This but not that, this on the side, etc.
I chose all of the above. Not just because of my mood, but also according to the recipient. It's like choosing a card from Hallmark. The card I choose for my grandmother would not be the one I chose for my 15 year old neice.
I also like to stamp in a variety of styles. There are a few styles that I just don't get. One of them is the dolls out various images (creepy to me) and collage. I appreciate the work that goes into a collage but my brain does not work that way. I guess that's why the dolls are kind of strange to me too. I can't "step outside the box" to create something like this.

I chose cute and whimsical as I love Penny Black and make the majority of my cards with their stamps! Although I am really looking forward to SU arriving in the UK and I am sure I will be purchasing some sets, probably still go with the cute ones though!
I don't get those strange dolls, either! Who would you send a card like that to? The people I know would wonder what I'd been smoking! LOL!

Did you ever enter one of those contests where you had to guess how many...
...Jelly beans were in a full jar? Well, to speak metaphorically--those jellybeans represent the multitude of IDEAS I have in my head of cards I think I might actually make (NOT). But when push comes to shove, and I actually have the time to sit down and start crafting, I resort to funny, funny, funny!
I am quite new to the stamping world and I always seem to gravitate towards corny (and ridiculously funny, in my opinion) stamps. I love searching for vintage, retired stamps with quirky images and especially food themed stamps.
I would love to learn how to use watercolor pencils properly because I am starting a new love affair with House Mouse stamps!

I am also an *all the above* kinda stamper. Depends on my mood, depends on the recipient. Kinda like fashion, sometimes I'm frumpy, sometimes I'm elegant, sometimes there's some cleavage!
I try to have fun with my creations, there are so many techniques to try and so many fun stamps to play with!

I so have to agree- I thought it was just me.I did vote all of the above, although I don't do cute, and only minimally distressing, thats something else I just don't 'get', when everything is distressed to within an inch of its life.I like 'aged' when doing vintage, and I think there is a difference between aged & distressed. I agree that 'elegant' should be in there, I like that style. The one thing that makes me run a mile is when people say a style is 'bang on trend'. Euch!!!One of the joys of what we do is that what we create will be totally different to someone elses work, even if we use the same products- if I wanted something that's in 'fashion', I'd just go out & buy!
Climbs down off soapbox,lol
I chose layered, vintage, distressed but only because the layered was in the choices. I do elegant work most of the time. Don't care for distressed, but a card HAS to have 5 or 6 layers, doesn't it? ;)
i love it all ... so, that's my style! it depends on my mood, how much time i have, what i'm making, or who it's for...
I don't tend to do a lot of really super detailed cards/projects, and don't use a lot of heavy embellishments, though I really enjoy seeing those kinds of projects. It's one of the reasons i love going through the galleries here so much -- the variety is wonderful!
