So far I've used Certainly Celery with Always Artichoke and Rose Red, then Sage Shadow, Always Arti with left over Wintergreen DP, Will be doing Kiwi Kiss with RHR, Sage, BB and WW also Sage, Chocolate CHip with VV.
Wait you said six right? Oops.
Er so I shouldn't mention I'll be doing some blue cards too?

I like to mix things up, but some of my favorite color combos have been:
For Hanukkah:
elegant eggplant with copper embossing
night of navy or bordering blue with silver cardstock
so saffron with ballet blue and white cardstock
silver and white cardstock with some combo of silver or blue embossing
For Christmas:
Real red, glorius green, green galore, pixie pink, pink passion with white
pixie pink and pretty in pink with gold cardstock (pink pirouette would go nicely with this combo as well)
handsome hunter and baroque burgundy and vanilla cardstock
ruby red and garden green with vanilla cardstock
Purchasing a SU DP package and then purchasing the coordinating colors can also take the guesswork our of holiday card making for you as well if you wish to give it a try. Oh yeah, don't forget the envies!!
I listed more than six to give you more options and selections, hope you don't mind. Enjoy!!
I'm still working on my cards so this post is perfect timing. For the first round of cards, I used River Rock, Purely Pomegranate (I loved the last in colors so I stocked up on these) with white craft ink. It looked gorgeous. I will check back for other good color combos as I want to be different from the typical red & green, blue & white, etc.
Most of my cards this year will be Baja Breeze with Old Olive.
I also like these:
Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip
Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss
Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive
No promises of limiting myself to six colors but I'll try to keep it to six color combinations (but still no promises). In no particular order I love ...
Certainly Celery with Old Olive (and I often add some Regal Rose and/or Rose Red) - there is no way I could pick just 6 colors!
For my pre-teen niece I usually use Gable Green / Green Galore with touches of Pixie Pink and/or Pink Passion
Night of Navy with Brocade Blue is great for cards with snowmen/snowflake images but if the recipient is a child I will switch to Bashful/Brilliant Blues.
Elegant Eggplant with Brushed Silver (also nice with Brushed Copper or copper embossing but I usually use silver or gold for holiday cards).
Very Vanilla with Brushed Gold and/or gold embossing
Real Red with white embossing and maybe a touch of Handsome Hunter and/or Night of Navy (depends on the design) to make it less bright/stark.
Handsome Hunter with Sage Shadow and some Pretty in Pink.
I am thinking of doing some cards this year using Chocolate Chip/Close to Cocoa and touches of pink or blue but it's too early to have a design yet(says the stamper that made 60+ cards most with different designs in 5 days and mailed them all on 12/24 last year).
Love the question and I'm having fun reading the replies!
Real Red, Purely Pomegranate
Hunter green, glorious green
Night of Navy & Brocade Blue
I do like traditional but this year I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone......I've seen some really awesome Christmas cards with pinks......and light blues.......
I may sneak a few of those in this year too! hehehehe
Real Red, Red Riding Hood, Handsome Hunter, gold, glittery embossed white and Old Olive. Haven't started on this year's stuff yet so I may try some new combos.

Hmmm my Christmas cards this year are:
Real Red and White
Soft Sky and White
Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Vanilla
Rose Red and White
I've done cards in:
Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue
Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black
Cool Caribbean and So Saffron
Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, and River Rock
My most used SU! colours for Christmas are: Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, Night of Navy & Bashful Blue. I use white or vanilla for a neutral and usually add gold or silver paper/accessories if I want some 'bling' to it.

last years card was bliss blue, and this years is going to be Creamy Caramel. I don't use traditional Christmas colors. But I am a Rich Regals paper person, I almost always reach for Articoke, hunter, burgandy, these are my favs.
For a Christmas card swap I'm in, I'm doing a card in Riding Hood Red, Garden Green and Kraft. I think it looks nice. Wild Wasabi is a nice green too if you have a stash. For my "winter" themed cards I usually do blue and white. Sometimes using blue ink on Shimmery White and sometimes using CS layers. I tend to like Night of Navy and Bashful Blue with white and then silver accents.
