My first set was Alpha Builders. I bought it to do scrapbooking, but have never used it! I then added a few sets and moved on to card making. I still haven't touched my scrapbooking! Yikes!
I can't remember which one I got first...I think it was Many Moos, which I wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of in a trade. :( The other possibility is Shapes and Shadows. I am NOT getting of that one anytime soon. Still love it!
My first was A Little Love, that I got on ebay in October of 05. I got a great deal on it, and still have it- it's just something about that little crown- looks great on all things girly!
My first set was 'Something to Celebrate'. I thought it would be useful for scrapbooking as well as lots of birthday cards. I love it, but haven't used it too much. Since then, I have bought many more!

The first set I purchased was that one the All God's Children replaced (can't remember the name). Sold it after it retired and bought All God's Children. My other first stamps were the ones that came in my kit... and my kit came before my order! ;) I joined SU at my first workshop.
Swirl Frame Fun or was it called Swirl Fun Frame? Sugah, I don't remember...it does have Swirl and Frame in the title fer sure. DH purchased it for me at Simply Southern in Nashville...thus, beginning my addiction!
Thought this was a fun topic and wanted to revive the thread.
My first "set" was my starter kit (I saw it was SUCh a good deal!) but my interest began when I received a holiday card from a good friend made with the Happy Winter set, which I was sure to include in my starter kit.
I also got Shapes & Shadows, Simply Sweet and Right at Home. I don't recall the others.
When I bought my first stamps from SU they didn't have JUST SU stamps. They had other companies. And that was maybe 11 or 12 years ago. don't remember my first stamp. I now have over 125 SU sets. Button Bear & Berry Best were 2 of the first...........1995-1996 catalog. Berry best was one that I demonstrated a lot as a demonstrator & Button Bear was probably one of my best sellers.
My first set was Holidays Hedgehogs. They are the reason why I fell in love with SU. The set is horribly mounted very stained and I will never get rid of it. I made so many bad cards with the set, with cheap cardstock from Walmart, but I kept almost all of the cards so I can look at them later.
Festive Four was my first set, along with a spider wheel. And to think I only went to the SU party becasue a friend was hosting it - who knew I would become addicted so qucikly. That was 3 catalogs ago!
My first set was bought in about 2000 and it was Quilts Give Comfort. I think I used it once or twice. Sold it a few years later on ebay. My style of stamping has changed so much since I started. I still find stamps that I bought years ago and (hand to forehead) wonder WHAT WAS I THINKING?
Mine was Fantastic Foliage, many years ago. I still use it a lot, plus I do a big art project with it every Fall with my students. I have so many sets now I store them in a Craftsman tool chest on wheels, but I won't give that one up.
Lovely as a Tree. Went to a party at my friend's, saw a card of the pine tree done in eggplant, and gold. It was beautiful. My friend is now a my demo, but I'm still a beginner!
