Default A bit of everything

Doing Valentines, just about finished with those. Made some nice sympathy cards for a couple of friends who just lost their husbands, and general greeting cards. Messing around with alcohol ink. Built my own sticker stadium today and it works great! (used some boxes I've accumulated). Doing some reorganizing (when I'm out of ideas I mess around with organizing). Played with the nuvo mousse and made a fairy light for a friend with the metallics. It's been a fun month so far. I like making the cards because it helps me to stay connected to friends and I think about each friend I'm making something for. I really need to clean my house, ick, lol!

Default The Room Is Done!

I did it!  The room is finished!  I've been using it as it is for the past 2 months and its working perfectly.

I went through every single item in the room, moved it all out, painted the room, and had an electrician in the fix a questionable outlet.  I sorted all items into keep, toss, give away, sell piles then organized all the keep stuff into boxes and bins - AND labeled them!  lol.  Once I had that done I measure all the furniture I wanted to move back into the room, to include a craft table/workstation I built, and using an online room planner, plotted out where it all should go to be most effective and to give me space to be able to actually move around.

I'm so relieved its done.  I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner.  The past 7 years I had to move the stuff I wanted to use to the dining table, keep hunting to stuff, make a mess, and put it all back again.  Now everything has its place and even though its the 'craft room', I don't leave stuff around, I put it back where it belongs as soon as I'm done with it.  I LOVE my room.

I think doing the room was a bit of a distraction from this insane year and I hope you all were able to accomplish some of your goals, as well.

I took pictures and created an album here if anyone would like to see it:

Wow nice room! I am jealous. I have been trying so hard to get my room organized. Seems like the more I organize the worse it gets. Organized stuff takes up more room then bins of stuff. I did purge quite a bit but I do many different crafts and that makes it even harder. I have a home office that is much larger then craft room. Thinking of switching them but soo much to move it all. Plugging away bit by bit. Uggg

I get it about the organization expansion.  I'm into a lot of different things and the more I broke it down the more boxes/space I needed.  I got very overwhelmed a few times but when I had it done, and realized I only had 3 of those 10" cube storage bins for "general crafts" I was very proud of myself.

Good luck!

Way to go!! My crafting space is much smaller otherwise, I’d steal your idea of the four cubby shelves and a table top!!

Gorgeous room!  I like how you used what you had and made it workable.  Love your table that you created with the cubby shelves.  I will be back to look and look and look.  Thanks for sharing your space!

Congrats! You did a great job! It looks as though everything has a place, very nice.

I'm still working on my studio, as well as, a total home decluttering, condensing and PURGING! I had new flooring installed early October so that set me off to get my home in order! I'm retired now, I have the time and energy. I'm feel like a new person since my spinal fusion in July. My goal is to start the new year with a lighter load that is well organized.
I've been bouncing around from area to area but I'm making good progress. Tomorrow, I'll start tackling the kitchen pantry and cabinets, everything will be removed, assessed and re-organized.

Congrats! I had a similar cube-and-work surface setup in my upholstery studio back east and I still miss it. My current space has to double as our guest room so I don't have the space to do it now. It's wonderful, though, isn't it? Great job!
