Hi all!
I'm sure this topic has been attacked before but I'm new here and just wanted some feedback.
What are your favorite sets? TOP 3
What do you always seem to grab for its versatility?
What Christmas set is a must have?
Convince me. Lol Have a great day!

I really think you will get many different opinions, we all have different tastes. I would look for a good sentiment set, I just ordered Brightest Glow. I am drawn to florals, more realistic than abstract whereas you may prefer birds or animals. Stampin Up sells a good quality product, easy to colour match with inks, papers, embellishments etc. Order what appeals to you and what you think you would use. I try to look at a stamp or die and think how versatile it would be, but also own different sets specific to holidays. Enjoy choosing! (I also think you will get a few comments about prices and other companies. I do not have exclusive SU products either, I help keep other companies viable, lol)

The set that I am using the most is Go To Greetings. It has the greetings I use, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Thank You and Just a Note in three different fonts.
The best advice I received many years ago: buy what appeals to you ONLY IF you can think of at least three times a year you would use it. Use the set name to search the gallery here when deciding, and if every card looks the same maybe you should reconsider.
Obviously Christmas sentiments are an exception, but you really can make Christmas cards with ANY image if you have the right sentiment for it - and yes I HAVE made Christmas cards with Halloween images thank you & LOL.
Happy exploring!

I have always been impressed with their cardstock.. I feel it is well worth the little extra money - it makes great base cards - although I prefer the 110 pound for a base, since I do at least 2 mats and die cuts, their lighter weight still makes a great card - and their colors are all fabulous...

It is definitely very nice paper with a big color selection! Thanks for your advice
Now see...this question is one I can not answer because I tend to buy stuff at SU that is not common use it a lot stuff. Like sentiments in French. I thought they came out with the best liquor bottle in a drinks set....
I like the family sets with a parent and child a lot. I see those as useful...for a parent's day or a thank you from a child or birthday for a parent...so there is the three uses rule. Which I do think is a good one in general for any product. (ie Always with me) There are not a lot of real looking ones like that out there-they are usually animals or cartoony looking.
If you are a person who wants your supplies to perfectly match-paper, ink, ribbon, etc....SU is good for that although they are not the only ones who do it.
In the end...I have to agree with the others. You have to get what YOU like. You could look here in the SU gallery which may help you pick. Write down the stamp names.
It is not an inexpensive company by any means. So watching our board where people sell for a deep discount is a great way to build your collection.
