I use SU! Whisper White to color with my Copics for images that I am going to layer. It bleeds through the back so you wouldn't want to use it for something you'll see the back of. I like the new Copic X-Press it paper best though. I've tried Flourishes and I don't care for it. It's not as smooth and shiny as the Whisper White or Copic X-Press It papers. Gina K's Pure Luxury works good too and it's thicker so you can't see the bleed through on the back. Hope that helps you out!
I notice that Bazzill has some smooth-finish card, in a couple of colours, that is recommended for use with Copics. As I don't have them I can't give any personal opinion.
I like the X-press It paper, and Papertrey's paper. The ink does bleed through these. If I need a one-layer card, I'll use Gina K's pure luxury WHITE paper. Her website says the Copics bleed through her cream paper.
I use Neenah paper for my copics, as well as Gina K heavy duty for my copics. I will use other paper if I don't have either on hand, and layer them....
Hammermill Color Copy Cover is my current favorite. It's available at Xpedx stores. I use the 60 lb for quick color tests, the 80 lb for coloring the actual image, and the 100 lb for the card base. The base is a perfect match that way.
X-Press It Blending Card also works well with Copics, but it is expensive. It also has a gray cast and I haven't been successful at matching it to a less expensive cardstock for the card base.
Keep in mind if you are using really thick paper (so the bleed won't show through) you will be sucking down more ink. I use PTI white. I have also tried Neenah and Xpress it. I like both of those as well but PTI is what I usually have on hand.
For single layer cards I use Domtar Cougar super smooth bright white. Its 130# and copics blend beautifully without any bleeding through. For everything else, I usually use what I have on hand, but lately that's been Wausau Exact Index 110#. It works great with copics. I sometimes also use the magna art paper or vellum bristol. The magna paper especially works well with copics, but these are almost a cream colour.
To the OP: you're going to get as many opinions about the best paper as there are people using copics. A lot depends too on the fibre density, humidity, etc. etc. of how well each paper will perform.
I've read this on other threads here on SCS, too. I wonder why the SU paper would ruin Copics? Anybody know???
The SU whisper white has a coating to make it slippery and the ink in Copics dissolves the coating. It will building up on the nib and clog it up. The nibs are replaceable, but why ruin a good tip if there's better papers to work with.

Good to know! I will quit using my SU! Whisper White for coloring on then. I'll stick to the Copic X-Press It paper. I had never heard about WW ruining Copics. Good thing I haven't used it too much. My Copics are still in good shape.
I bought X-Press It recently and noticed a problem that I'm wondering if anyone else has... there are small spots or flecks on the paper that resist the ink, making the finished edge sort of spotted. (I'm attaching an example - the lighting is poor, but I think you can see the problem.) Anyone else?
Previously I've used Gina K and liked it - I DO like the way the X-Press It blends, but...
Thanks for your input!

I have noticed the same thing, but I haven't let it stop me from using it. But I do know what you are talking about!!
I usually use Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, and sometimes PTI Stamper's Select. As a previous poster mentioned, using the very heavy weight card actually sucks a lot of ink, which is unnecessary according to Marianne Walker. I never use the Gina K. unless I want a one-layer card (beautiful cardstock, though!).

My favorite is the Cryogen White . I've tried everything except PTI (too expensive to get it to Canada). The Cryogen also takes digi printing PERFECTLY from my printer with no smudging at all which is great since I do a lot of digi images. I've tried Bazzill, Xpress It which I actually found was bad for bleeding past the lines of my images, Neenah which just didn't seem worth the $$, and the cheapie versions.
ETA: Oh...haven't had a chance to try the GinaK yet either.
I'm really enjoying the Cryogen white for my Copics as well as for printing my digi's. My digi images don't smear with my Copics! Yay! My Copics blend beautifully and I've not had any problems with my copic colors bleeding. Just sayin.... ;D
cryogen white is perfect!
I used it a lot and without bleeding out.... you can check it out at PaperTempstress they have great paper to use with copics and also carries the Cryogen White.
I have to chime in and agree that there is nothing like Cryogen White for coloring with copics. Excellent blending and no bleeding not to mention Cryogen White does very well with other inks.
On my side of the pond Neenah is quite hard to find and its expensive. Papertry Ink have the most horrendous postal charges so I don't even look!
Lili of the Valley do an excellent card which colours and blends well, Rymans own brand bright white coated cardstock is excellent and is often on offer too.
I have tried a number of papers- my favorites are Cryogen White and Neehah. The Cryogen White has a shimmer in it and the coloring- it just looks so good on this cardstock! I get mine at Paper Temptress. I print out digital images on it and stamp on it as well.
I also like that you can get different colors of - there are lots of great shimmery cardstocks available-and one or two sheet at a time there. She also is really generous with give aways- I won a Silver Lustre pack- oh it is soooooo cool with Ghost images
I use the cardstock that you can find at Wal-mart which you get more for your money than white with SU. This works great for copics and layering but you also have to watch which black ink you use for stamping then coloring. The black ink can run too!
