mine indicates my love for paperkrafting and the name came about after my husband bought me a small building downtown to use as my studio, he even came up with a name PaperKrafters Retreat................it used to house kitchenkrafters a custom countertop business so that is what lead to his PaperKrafters and he said the retreat was to indicate it was not a store, but a place where we could gather from time to time. What a DEAR DH he is. so I am a happy clam with a place to store my diecuts. I have a cricut and the commercial Accucut Grande Mark and a ton of dies for it mostly for cards, scrapbooks and envelopes. Love making fancy diecut cards.
My husband and I are known as "The Odds". Yes, there's a story behind that but it's a bit hard to explain.
We sign our holiday cards "The Odds". Our house is known as the "Odditorium". When I make a dish for pot-lucks, I make enchiladas but call them "oddchiladas".
So when I started making cards, I naturally started signed the back "oddesigns". I sometimes pronounce it normally, and sometimes I pronounce the first part like the Norse god Odin.
We live in a very flat part of Ohio, our last name is Hill, and if you own any amount of grass in the country it's considered a farm here. So it's a Flat Hill Farm. There are no hills except for the 4 of us, and we are definitely a non-working farm. lol

Julie in Indy - Julie is my first name and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I first used it on another board years ago to distinguish myself from another Julie.
I used to go the game site Pyschobabble and made up the name 2CuteCats because I have 2 cats and couldn't think of anything else. So when I joined SCS, I decided I liked that name and used it here too!
very interesting. Sometimes I wonder what the inspiration behind names are. For me, MiAnCaTo - stands for the first two letters of the names from each member of my family: MIriam, ANdrew, CAssandra and TOby. I am contemplating doing a mosaic name plate for our house using these letters... One day I will get done all the things in my head that I want to do!

I'm not Japanese but my screen name means the art of flower arranging (in Japanese). I've always been fascinated with Japanese culture and I like watching movies shot in the "suburbs" of Japan, where the women were wearing kimonos, kind of like the samurai era. Just imagine how many times I watched The Last Samurai.

My neice could not pronounce my name (Sharon) correctly, and called me Shen-no. We were just two years apart in age so we basically grew up together so the name stuck and many family members still call me Shenno.

That's cute. I wonder how many adults are going around with names given to them by little ones who were learning to talk? Quite a few, I'll bet.

My screen name relates to my avatar picture. The one on the left is Rusty (he's 3) and the one on the right is Flash (he's 9). I used this because my user id on almost everything else was taken (mickey). Mickey was my first dog (same breed as these two are). That user id originated because way back when there was no internet, just "dumb" terminals and hard wired connections to mainframes, at work, we were told to pick our own user id's, something easy to remember and personal. "Don't worry, it's only for your own use - no one will see it". Sure@!!! Nowadays, our IT department chooses our screen names using official protocols involving our actual names. You don't know how many times I have to relate the story of how my user name is mickey my dog, considering my name is Elizabeth!

Chispa is my beautiful siamese/Russian blue kitty. She's my only daughter (I have two wonderful sons!), thus my user name, Chispa's mom. When she was just a kitten, Chispa was sooooo playful and full of spunk, that my husband gave her her name which means "spark of life" in Spanish.
I had belonged to a quilt quild since 1983, within that quild we had ladies that would get together as a smaller group to quilt, visit, take road trips, or just have fun. I belonged to two of those smaller groups and the one group that still gets together from time to time is named "The Sewflakes" because, well one of the ladies thought we are a bit flaky.
Mine is a combination of my first name and 747 which is my home street address. It shows how uncreative I was when I first got a computer many years ago and signed up for AOL. It was all I could up come with for a user name.
Well, my screen name is one I've used for quite awhile. The "af" part comes from being in the Air Force. Currently proudly serving for just over 19.5 years. The "dish" part comes from one of my co-workers at my first base calling me "Trish the Dish". When I PCS'd (moved on) to my next base (Osan AB), someone that worked in that same shop PCS'd at the same time to the same base. Because of that, the nickname followed me. So, I started using afdish for my screen names. It is unique enough that I usually don't have any problems with it being already taken. When I retire from the Air Force, I may have to start using RetAFDish.
I don't have a great story to tell. I just wanted a name that told a little bit about who I am. So I decided on something to go with "writer" and the only thing I could think of was writer's cramp. I just changed the cramp to stamp since I love to stamp. I hope someday to come up with someting a little more creative.
...oh well. When you see my name you will be able to figure it out.

I just found this one, although I posted in yours the other day! So, who in their right mind would use the name muscrat? ME! That's who. It was one of those "I've tried every name I can think of and it keeps telling me already taken!" I just figured no one would ever choose muscrat and I'm only going to visit here anyway?!?! LOL the jokes on me. I love it here so I guess I'm stuck with muscrat.
Well we raise Quarter Horses so we go on alot of rides. My horse is a filly. So one of my friends started calling me Sillyfilly. It stuck so I used it as my avatar.
Officially it's supposed to be CreativeChabadCrafts but scs has a limit to the number of characters in the name so i cut out the two a's in Chabad. Here's the somewhat lengthy explanation from my blogspot with the same name:
I know it's not a very creative name but I chose each word carefully! Creative: I prefer to create stuff that's fun, colorful, lively, even cutesy. I can do flowers and hearts and pretty pastels but it's not my preferred mode. Chabad: Until I come up with something in my own words, check this out Art - Jewish Knowledge Base for Chabad on art, and then wander around the rest of the site for general Chabad and life info. Really worth a visit!
Crafts: I love crayons and markers and stickers and stamps! You probably won't find me in the park with an easel painting the scenery but I do art in my own, crafty way.
My name is my first name with the first Intial of my last name and I love to stamp. It sound like I be a stamping.
Mine is boring I guess. I am Shirley Baker and there were 18 Shirley Bakers already online. So mine is shirlb19.......But now I could do that too, lol.
shirlbstamping.....I should change it! Love that! Thanks.
I do a lot of cardmaking at the cottage. It's a great thing to do in the evening when the mosquitoes are too thick to sit outside. Of course we have a dock that I am 'aside' of. :-)
Well mine has kinda evolved... so it's a lengthy story but I will try to cut it short!!
I met someone almost 20 years ago who was a Stampin Up demonstrator. We actually worked together. One night I was working late getting caught up on paper work and went to put a file in her office and she was still there too! Only she wasn't working, she was using her conference table to make cards. I asked "what is all this?" She told me everything!! We were there until 2am - she was crafting and talking and I was watching and listening!! I was hooked from that day on - I still think of here every time I work on a project! Well anyway I did not have ANY spare money at the time.... and I still don't. I had to learn to do things as cheap as possible!! What few stamps I own have either been gifts or purchased at close out prices. I never buy anything without a coupon!! I NEVER throw away ANYTHING made of paper!! I was making cards for probably 2 years before I purchased my first paper pack!! Most of my cards and crafts were made from scraps and still are today!
Okay fast forward... about three years ago I thought I would try my hand at blogging.... so you need a name right? Right! I came up with Shabby Scrap Shack. The Shabby came from a word a use a lot... I will say something like, hmm, not too shabby. And like I said, I use scraps a lot so Shabby Scrap Shack. Well that blog was a total failure - totally the wrong time in my life to start such a thing so I ended up shutting it all down. Well my husband and a friend of mine convinced me to start selling my cards to friends and a few local shops in the area. Again, you need a name right? Right! Well, my husband and I both agreed that while Shabby Scrap Shack was cute, it was difficult to say so back to the drawing board...
Obviously I kept Shabby from the original name
Jo is my grandmother's name and my middle name and she was the only one that ever encourage my inner crafty girl!
Designs just seemed to pull all together!
So when I got back online with my crafts I decided to use the business name. I am doing better with the whole blogging thing but the business end of it and my two year old sometimes get my blogging/forum time!
Hope this didn't totally bore everyone to death but that's my story and I'm stickin to it!!!

My niece caught me singing to her firstborn, but every now and then I would just sing la la la_la la la. She decided that I should be known to her boys as Aunt Lala.
I belonged to a Red Hat group for a while and our group chose a "sister" name.
Mine became Sister Lala. And there you have it!
