I know she colors with gamsol and stumps, with colored pencils. I've seen the rolled up kind, and the wooden looking kind. Which does she use? I've never tried this technique, and I was thinking I'd love to create the Lana magic!!
And Lana...where can I get those cute stamps?? I can't remember what they were now...Inky something and Whisper something? I love seeing new stamps!!
Thanks!!
Thanks to you both!! I went to the inkyantics website, and there it was!! Gamsol, stumps, and colored pencils. Although, if I remember correctly, doesn't she just use Crayola pencils?
OK I am no Lana but the word I get from her is that she uses Gamsol from www.inkyantics.com and the paper stumps...and yes Crayola pencils work well...
Speaking for myself...ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE A MUST HAVE ON MY DESK when designing my IA samples.
Oh and sorry one more thing
On the Inky Antics site there is a printable "how to" sheet for using colored pencils with Gamsol and Stumps...it is wonderful! Step by step pics and everything!
Some help I am! LOL! Yes my favorite stamp companies are Inky Antics and Whipper Snapper Designs at www.whippersnapperdesigns.com The best stumps are the ones made in Tawian. I also prefer Prisma Colored pencils which are a bit more money, but well worth it. Crayola pencils will work, but the lead isn't as soft as Prisma color pencils.
Coloring with Gamsol and stumps is the best way to color! Anyone can do it! It is so nice to blend the color in and create a smile maker!
I hope that helped some. Now go get stamping! Woohoo!
Lana, good to see you around here! Do you mean you like Inky Antics and Whippersnapper stamps better than SU?!?! <gasp> <g> I have the Gamsol and the Prisma pencils, but I don't use them a lot because I don't want to have to separate my cards into groups - those I can show my customers and those I can't. I don't want them to want to do the coloring method because they really need the Prismas and I'm afraid it will replace WCC or markers as the coloring method of choice (of course, I'm aware of the difference).
How do you handle this? I know that the pure color pencils work, but there are only 12 colors - woefullly inadequate! Also, have you figured out which Prisma numbers go with the new SU colors??
I just ordered the Gamsol for Inky Antics. The site says 1-3 weeks for delivery. I hope it doesn't take that long because I really really want to try this after looking at all the terrific cards done with this technique.

Susan, let me answer your question without really answering it. I consider all of my SU customers my friends. How do you treat your friends? It's funny because we just had a discusion about this at my last SU class. My friends were all telling me that they appreciate the fact that I can talk about more than just SU. They all agreed that is what they are looking for in a good demo. Someone who is honest. Someone who shares everything they know and find through this "one big stamping adventure". I guess it is all a matter of how you want to run your business. To me it isn't a business. To me it is a passion.
