Glue pen here too. On chipboard I brush a thin coat of tacky glue to stick the glitter on. Liquid glass is great for sealing in the glitter so it doesn't get everywhere.
I would like to have an irridescent cover on fairy wings and I've seen a few cards that use these products. My local craft store had Glimmer Mist, but I couldn't figure out to control it's spray area without a lot of masking. The shimmerz I haven't found yet. Have you used either of these projects? I want to have shine, but not have the design elements of the image covered up...like the veins in a fairy's wing. Help...TIA.

I use either a quickie glue pen for small areas, I use my xyron adhesive if its a large area, or for a stamped image I use the Martha Stewart glue pad.
@ Minneapple: You could use either pearl ex or perfect pearls to create a shimmer and still have it translucent to see the details. There are also shimmery chalks that you could use for the effect.

The Glimmer Mist can also be applied with a sponge which will give you a really nice shimmer, which I think turns out much better and more controlled than spraying the glimmer mist.

That's a good idea. I was testing out some glimmer mist the other day and I was getting big splotches from the nozzle. I did make my own and used a little mister I got at michaels and it worked fine.
So you think its the bottles that the glimmer mist comes in? I'll have to look around Michaels and see what I can find. Thanks for that.
I love the look of Glimmer Mist but it drives me $*&nuts when it splotches. I watched the video to see how they handle the splotches...and they don't, they use it as part of the design....for some reason I can't do that. The other way I can get it to at least blend a little better is using a brayer.
It depends on what I'm glittering and how much glitter I need. If I'm just adding a bit of glitter I use Stickles (like for centers of flowers or snowflakes). If I'm adding a line of glitter I use my Quickie glue pen and glitter. If I'm glittering an entire solid stamped image, I use A Muse's Simple Stick. I prefer it over SU's Heat and Stick because it doesn't clump and it's more fine. If I'm glittering the entire piece of cardstock (like a punched circle) I use my Xyron and glitter.
I love glitter but not glitter dandruff! I found a glitter setting spray - sorry not at home to check the name right now - at a stamping expo a while ago that stinks when you spray it but it does cut down on the dandruff and doesn't smell once its on the paper
I also use Xyron, and sticky strip. Sometimes I'll punch out a shape and put packing tape behind the opening and put the glitter on the sticky side of the packing tape - that holds glitter really well!
I've tried Martha stewart glitter glue and its been fine.
I want to buy some heat and stick powder when I order from my demo next and give it a try.
