Now that we have a baby coming my office/scrapbook room is turning into a nursery. Luckily we have an extra bedroom downstairs that I can use for my stamping. Currently that room houses my treadmill & futon for guests. So it will get some new shelving from Ikea & become my scrapbooking/workout room. I want it to be my 'me time' space since I won't get as much with the baby. So I was trying to decide what would be a good motivating color. Any ideas? What color is your room?
Stamp room? What's that? Mine looks a lot like my living room, lol. A lot of wall space there and most are a nice, warm gold color, except for the wall around the bay window; it's a soft clay color. They go nicely w/ the large, SW pattern area rug we have on the bamboo floor.
My craft room before we moved was Tempting Turquise with Chocolate Chip trim. When we get my craft room redone in the new house I would like to go with Pink Piroute and I haven't figured out what to use with it yet.
We're currently in a rental and it's white because we can't paint. We're just now starting the process of buying a brand new house. All the walls are white but we'll paint before we move in. I'm thinking of going with Cool Caribbean for my stamp room because I have all white furniture from IKEA.
Mine is apartment dingy white. The color doesn't matter to me at all since it's what I do in the room that I get a lot of pleasure and enjoyment from. I am not fashion, I'm function. It's my room and no one else gets to come in it.
Wish I could have a color. It is a nook in my basement storage room, so I have a combination of exposed fireplace bricks, white painted cinder blocks, russian blue painted boulders, cement floor, and a dark cherry ceiling (not stained but the wood used is naturally dark). It may sound like a dungeon but I call it my craft cave.
If you can pick a color for your room, I recommend picking a color that makes you feel happy. It doesn't have to be a color that coordinates with the rest of house. I say go wild and do what your heart wants.
Mine is Cool Caribbean that was lightened about 25%. I actually took a piece of cardstock in and had them color match it. Mind you, my room is a corner of our unfinished basement and I painted the parging - but it works and makes me happy. Good luck choosing a colour!
Mine is Apple Green #3 by Laura Ashley. you can get it at Lowe's. I paired the green with black and white damask drapes and accents. If it ever gets cleaned up,I'll post some pics!
25 year old off-white that still looks decent. I'm lazy and would rather play than paint! I can never decide on a color when I look at all those gazillion paint chips either. I need to get out of my comfort zone and hypnotize DH so he doesn't care about spending any money. The rest of the house needs painting, needless to say.
Fun question. My room is in my basement and is somewhere between cool caribbean and baja breeze - sherwin williams raindrop. We added sparkle to the paint for one wall and it looks like fine glitter when the light hits it. I so enjoy being in there. The trim and cabinets are creamy white.
I still need to paint it but I was going to paint it PTI's Aqua Mist. But I love Susan's (LateBlossom) idea of Almost Amethyst!! I may have to re-think it.
Yes good question,My craft room is a spare room and it isof white( ok beigeish) and all the trim is gloss white one side is my desk and storage shelves and the other has a bed incase I have a visitor .oh and sky blue curtains.
This is fun reading about everyones rooms helps imagine them working away.
Before management came in and painted my apartment off white (bleh) I had all the rooms painted in light, soft pastel colors with white ceilings to tie them together,. It gave the apartment a light and airy feel. I know how the color of your room can affect how you feel. You should pick a color that always makes you feel good when you see it. I think we all have a few colors that affect us positively, we just might not be concious of it. I took a class years ago that taught you to Id color reactions. Example..red is a nono color for me, gets me agitated and stressed, I am literally phisycally uncomfortable in a room painted red or with major red decor.
I bet you probably have a color that always seems to sooth you, think about it. It's always a personal thing.

Reason: for terrible spelling then I gave up
I had the wall color matched to Stampin' Up!'s Certainly Celery. Everything else is Black & White.
Can you come visit me when it's time for me to move my stamp room upstairs into my two boys room? We're going to re-do the basement next summer to put two rooms down there so I'll get a sweet spot away from the ruckus and I LOVE your room!!!
Not to de-rail the thread so...mine will be Kiwi Kiss...and I can't WAIT!!!!
my room is ... well, all the furniture is the birch finish from Ikea and three walls are Bordering Blue with the fourth wall being more like Marina Mist! I love blue 'cause it is such a calming colour ... with 5 kids, I need every ounce of help in the "calm" dept ...
I'm so glad I found this thread. Right now my craft room is an icky burnt orangey-brown color. I don't know what I was thinking when I did that. Looked good in the can.. I've been wanting to re-paint my room, and was thinking of doing it a dusty rose color because I love pink, but didn't want something too light, and didn't want it to look like a nursery. (I had 3 girls.. lol)
