Default What can you do with punches?

Hi-

I came across this really neat youtube video that showed a woman using the scalloped punch to make bodies for lady bugs. SOO, it could be thinking, I have a bunch of punches, but never use them for anything creative. I was wondering if anyone has a gallery/list of different things you can make with different punches? I realize with circle and ovals you can make flowers and such, but just wondering if there is anything out of the ordinary. I LOVED the lady bug, which got me thinking about birthday balloons, which got me thinking about how I can create more dimension in my cards. thanks

Hi-

If you put stampin' up in the search, you will see a bunch of links, some pretty good stuff. The video which has the punches on it is called Jan 08 kit club. The "author" of it is called inkerup. I thought it was nice that she showed how to use some of the SU products in different ways.

I know memory_lane and she is so creative... hmm, maybe I should buy more punches so I can play more.

If you are looking for things to do with a specific punch you can type the punch name in the gallery search and see examples too.

I have been using my new slit punch to make scallop border on my paper. Works really easy, and is so pretty! Now to just get my slit punch fixed, it is leaving a oily circle on my paper. My demo is checking on it for me. I think they oiled it to much when they made it.

A balloon punch laid sideways works great for a fish, with a small heart used for the fins and a couple of hearts for the tail. Ovals and circles are great for all sorts of animals - and snowmen . There's a sort of swirl punch that makes great tails for cats and monkeys and so on. I don't have any sort of die-cutter, so I try to make the most of my punches.
