Why is there not a dispenser with a cutter for the tapes like redline or scoretapes that come on big rings. Infact why do those tapes have such a large center ring?
Ordinary tapes have refillable dispensers why not double sided craft tapes. A bright dispenser of reasonable size would not get lost on the craft table.
In the back of my memory, I think I saw something as described above at a scrapping show years ago. But have not seen one in ordinary markets.
And I have seen many "out there"...in my library supplies catalogs, in U-Line catalog, and many other places. BUT they are out-of-line pricey!!! I can't fathom paying anywhere near $100 just to hold my tape.
Fionna 51 wow you are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you. In the back of my mind, I remember a glitter company-- they sold stamped acetate to "color with glitter". At my first scrap show, they sold a score tape and demoed how glitter sticks to it for borders. I bought the tape. They had a dispenser that several rolls were on, but my knowledge of paper crafting was so limited at that time, I did not buy it. Never saw it again.
They were out of the mid west, had regular videos on glitter use and she always used the expression " worry the edges" when explaining about taking layers apart. Anyone out there know the company Im talking about. They specialized in glitter and thebacetate images.
Edit -- Whoops --- sorry, Stacy already posted, while I was pecking away at my keyboard! LOL!
There are several 3" core dispensers on Amazon under $20 with free shipping (free shipping at Amazon's new $49 level- ugh!) Or Prime would apply, if you have it. Uline has the multi-roll ones similar to the one at Score Pal for $16.
Scotch brand dispenser sounds like it might be a little more 'heavy-duty' than some? And it's a tiny bit nicer looking LOL! A bit higher though at $19.88
Anyway - there seems to be somewhat of a selection available out there - I just went to Uline & Amazon, didn't look further... Someone needs to come up with one that is prettier for us crafty girls though, huh?
omg people are talking about cutting themselves and needing stitches with that Tach-It! Otherwise looks handy but I'm not willing to draw blood at my craft table – I rarely use the color red :-)
I was just thinking I need to get my Glue Dots in a dispenser next time... I usually end up with a dot on each finger when I'm using that roll.
I just bought a dispenser similar to this at my local Office Depot for under $4.00 on the clearance shelf. It was not as wide (only held up to 1" tape) and I believe the original retail was probably $30+. I didn't believe the price when I saw it and made an employee scan the barcode to be sure. Bought one for a friend. She has 1/2" and 1/4" tape on hers. Wanted to buy one for myself, but I don't have enough real estate on my desk. LOL I don't know if it was only my store clearancing them or if it is chain wide.

I prefer holding the tape while using it and I put two fingers in the hole and rest it on the back of my hand. I just feel I have control of it that way.

I'm stumped...Sparkle and Sprinkle is in FL, Judikins is in CA, ArtGlitter is in AZ and I think Ranger is in NJ..no midwest. Who am I missing?
PK Glitz. Lady named Janelle. Glitter on acetate sheets is what I was thinking of. Last video I found is four years old. That is where I saw the dislenser.

I also like to hold the tape in my hand. I don't use it very often, and a dispenser would just be something else to find room for, lol.

I just bought a regular desktop dispenser for my larger rolls. Works fine. On the odd occasion one is a loose fit, I just pad it out with a piece or two of foam tape. I paid about 4, and they are about $4 in Amazon.com.
I tried using dst with a tape dispenser and it struggled cutting thru both the tape and the backing as that is much thicker and denser than the tape itself.
I just use the stuff that you can tear. very easy to use.
I agree, the tape with the red plastic type backing is no good. The paper backed ones are ok. generally I use mine for low tack tape/ artists masking tape. I find, like Kathleen, paper backed dst just as easy to tear.
My husband made me a wooden dispenser with a VERY large holder so the tapes don't wobble all over the place and used a saw blade as the tear-off portion. I the ⅛", " and " tapes along with a spool of blue painters tape on it. He just looked at a picture I saw and made it for me. The one we saw was actually plastic.
