For those of you considering EZ mount, and storage different storage methods for your unmounted stamps, consider this warning directly from Sunday Int'l, the major distributor/manufacturer? of EZ mount.
From Sunday International website:
Please Note: It is not recommended that you store any of your EZMount Stamps on Acetate Sheets. Acetate is made with chemicals that will react with EZMount and any other cling cushion type product, making an almost permanent bond between it and the cling.

Wohwoh, :( I use these, though I have been planning on changing it. I have not had this problem yet, but I have not used all the images after puting them on the acetate. Looks like I better get cracking. Thanks for sharing.

I had 14 sets that were affected in some way. Some sets had to be remounted completely. Fortunately, some sets only had partial adherence. I was very annoyed at first. And, I liked my filing system on the acetate. But, I've quickly adapted to just having them in CD/DVD cases.

so, other than CD cases, what do you use to store them?
Sunday International, manufacturers of EZMOunt make a sheet called "tabbed storage panels" mentioned above that fit into a three ring binder. Ihave used these for unmounted and they work ok! I like the cd case thing, but this works too. I might have gone the binder route if I wasn't already commited to cd cases.

Oh, fudge! Well, I bought close to my heart stamp storage cases for my stamps. I am storing the stamps on acetate sheets in the cases. Fudge! Well, look for my sell post on the buy, sell, trade board!
I have 7 binders full on acetate sheets, so looks like I'm switching systems... I think I am going to get the storage panels from Sunday Int. since I already have all the binders. Stinkers...

I use polycarbonate sheets to store my acrylics and ez mounts on. It's more rigid and thicker so you can't store as many sheets in a binder as the acetate but after a year of use I've had no issues with it. See the 9/28/07 post on my blog for details.
well the easiest solution is to just not use EZ Mount. Then you still get to use the awesome storage possibilities that storing unmounted stamps on transparency sheets affords you
I am having trouble getting some acrylic stamps off the transparancies they came with. I am not sure the manufacturer but it is a record items and lines. I will definitely take these off that sheet and put them in a CD case. This is why I am happier with wood mount myself.
I store all my ez mounted stamps on the binder pages that are made for them, work great.
I use cardstock in laminating film to mount my EZMounted stamps. I looked at their website and they say that the plastic film is PET. I looked that up on the web:
Polyethylene terephthalate (aka PET, PETE or the obsolete PETP or PET-P) is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in synthetic fibers; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming applications;
etc! It would be better known as Mylar or Dacron, among a bunch of other names I have never heard of. Sounds like it is safe, at least not acetate. Just to be sure I asked the manufacturer.
I have a question. I have clear stamps from various companies: Hero Arts, Stampendous, MSE, Penny Black and they are all sold on a plastic sheet. Is that sheet safe or should they be removed?
I was using a photo album with the cling sheets, I think they're called magnetic photo albums. I just started UM'ing this month. I wonder if they're safe?
I keep the ones I get on sheets on those sheets, but I store the others on EZ Mount in CD cases (clear plastic cases)
Just FYI - I used Versacling (a clear plastic sheet ) on my stamps. It is not useful after 1 year - even if you clean it with Window cleaner after use. I had it sliding off of the stamps :( - even when NOT cleaned with window cleaner!
I need a new storage for what few unmounted stamps I have. I was planning on purchasing some CD cases at Wal Mart. I did not know there were metal CD Cases. Where would one purchase those?
I was also thinking of putting my few red rubber unmounteds on EZ Mount. I guess with CD Cases that would still be ok.
I just got the Little Monkeys Storage system. I think its really cool and a super way to store unmounted when you don't have alot of them. The premise is you cling your UM stamps to a "board" that's laminated then slide the board into a sleeve. I think the sleeves aren't acetate so I should be okay, right? Does anyone else use this system?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. All the time and money I have invested in these stamps just to become damaged would break my heart. Two days ago I started mounting on acetate. I've ordered from Sunday int'l the appropriate storage sheets. And will switch.
Again thank you
Sharon

That's how I store mine - I use EZ Mount & store in plastic CD cases - NOT the skinny ones, & I remove the black area that holds the CD.
