I was inspired by this post Forums at Splitcoaststampers
to bring up this idea. I mentioned it in another thread without response, so I decided to make it stand alone and try it that way....
My "challenge" idea is to use EVERY stamp set that you have in your stash and post the creations. I have a list in Excel of all my sets and I highlight them as I use them.
Just to justify all those purchases ;)
It's been kind of fun, but I like having a goal or a project to work on so it motivates me and forces me to do things I wouldn't otherwise have done, KWIM?
Let me know if you're "in" and post your creations, and let's see what we have gathering dust!

That sounds like a great idea. Although I have a few hundred sets and not a lot of time to stamp. I am not sure I would be able to use them all within a time frame. I have stopped buying a lot of sets like I used to. Can't afford them and also realized I need to use what I have. I am also trying to pull out the old sets and use them more. I was using Beautiful Batik in the past few days. I haven't used that set in a long time.
I haven't posted to the gallery lately but what I've been doing is looking at the new sets and trying to create a similar card (Case) with an old set. As soon as I can I will load one on and show you what I mean.
OMG, if I do that I will have to make a lot of cards. I will make a concerted effort to try to use toys I haven't used in a while. Thanks for reminding us, we are blessed with plenty.
I am totally in on this! It seems like i just buy the stamps and they hang around and look pretty! I am totally going to get working on some of this stuff tonight!

This is a great idea! I work in a school and as this school year winds to a close (Yeah!)...I think I will take this challenge on for the summer. Can't join in right now as things are too hectic, but thanks for sharing the idea.
It's so funny I stumbled upon your thread. I am in a no-spend for 30 days challenge. And so I came up with the same idea. I will use each one of my stamp sets. And I also listed them in a document. Weird!
I like this idea...my collection is rather sizeable...so I will be working on this challenge until I am 80 easily. ;) As long as I can stamp...I should be able to do it.

I think the point is to use any sets that have not seen ink yet, right? I know when I get new sets I keep them on the side, then when I do challenges I use those sets first. Once I use them at least once they can go into the general population of stamps. I started doing this a long time ago. I have found that I buy a stamp set with a particular purpose in mind (a scrap book page etc) that I will eventually get to, but I know I should use the sets more than once to justify the purpose. Often times the sets I thought I would only use once become my favorite sets. This is especially true with hostess sets that I didn't really want or have a need for, I just got them for free, if I make myself use them I can often come up with something great and then I want to use it all the time.
Yes, Kimme! The idea is to use the neglected stamps; sometimes it pushes your creativity a little further, KWIM? AND to "justify" that you bought them! : )

OMGoodness, girl! It sometimes takes me awhile to mount them all if I get a bunch at once, but I am usually so excited to get them that I have a hard time NOT mounting them...it's more the old ones that I've neglected that I'm trying to force myself to use...but whatever works for you! ;)

I hope you didn't misunderstand, I have plenty that are mounted and ignored-but I was cleaning the other day and saddened by the ones I needed that haven't been put together yet-my challenge should be to mount everything, and not buy anything new until I've used everything I own already. OR I suppose I could sell a few:rolleyes:
