Default Using Alphabet Stamps

When using alphabet stamps, how do you get them to line up straight? Whenever I use them, the words come out all crooked. Any suggestions?

Drives me crazy too. I'm always looking for a foolproof way to line up words to stamp using alphabet stamps.

Using an acrylic block with grid lines on it helps. Before I got one of those, I would set my block on a piece of lined paper & line up the bottom of the letters with one of the lines.

Another idea is to lay the letters (imprint side down) on a piece of paper to get them lined up & then press the block onto them.

If you need the letters to be straight and evenly spaced a stamp postioner is the way to go. I am also a fan of the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Here is a tutorial (with alphabet stamps) on how to use one if you are not familiar with it.

I am also a big fan of just stamping alpha stamps freehand and staggering the letters. It gives it a whimsy look.
