Default Upcoming Craft Show Question

I will be in a first time ever craft show in August. I was wondering just what anyone would try to sell during this time of year. I feel that it is obviously too early for xmas so any input would be greatly appreciated. Especially successful ideas...Thanks

I think focusing on back to school, Thanksgiving and Halloween would be best. But, definitely have items that can be bought as stocking stuffers and such. A lot of my Christmas items involve chocolate so those are the things I would stay away from. Good luck!!

I was just in a craft show and sold tons of the glass marble magnets. I also sold quite a few cards - which is a first for me. I think those were the big sellers.

Baby cards always go well for me, thank you cards, notecards, birthday cards--esp. for young children.

I did not sell many Holloween cards last year. Too early for Christmas.

You might consider some other paper items in addition to the cards.

I agree with Back to School, Fall, and Halloween.

I just had my first fair in June (if you follow the link to that thread above, I posted all the info on what I sold, etc.) - the BEST selling items by far were the paperclip bookmarks. Kids loved 'em. I think since it's still summer, you can also make lots with the Tart & Tangy set - not sure if you have it. But it makes really cute stuff and is simple.

Hope that helps you. best of luck at your first fair!!

I doesn't hurt to have a few sets of Christmas cards to sell. I know a lot of gals who keep their eyes open for Christmas things all year long. It helps to spread the costs through the entire twelve months instead of just November and December.

My friend sells small sets (4 or 5) of cards that are stamped but not colored. She calls them Children's Card Coloring Kits. She doesn't stamp any words either, so the little kids can use them for birthdays or thank yous or whatever.

Default first show too

This will be my first show too, this August! I'm fretting over two things: either it will be a total flop and I'll have enough cards and crafty things to last me a lifetime...OR...everything will sell the first day (it's a 3-day affair) and I'll have nothing left for the next 2 days!

I'm making mini composition books, post-it note holders (thanks for the great tutorials, Angie!!), cards like crazy, notecard sets, milk cartons with cards inside, little jars and containers...I wanted to make tiles, but I can't seem to find the right kind (at the right price) or acrylic sealer either. I'm going to try to make some chocolate bar holders, gum holders, stuff like that. I'll just have to borrow a cooler to keep the bars in and pop them in at point of sale!

The other thing I'm worried about is float. I have NO idea how much float to keep on hand!

I like the idea of doing Halloween/Thanksgiving things...I'll have to get cracking on those!
