I have been working really hard on my blog--trying to make it interesting, cause I know I have family in other states looking at it, and I want them to enjoy it! I added a subscription option and have had several people subscribe. This morning I got an UNsubscribe notice...stings a little...stated reason #12--other or will not disclose...anyone else had this happen? Now I am paranoid. To many puppy, kid and fishing pics, not enough projects? I cannot believe I am even asking myself these questions! I guess take it or leave it...
I wouldn't worry about it. Your blog is what YOU want it to be. I have family and friends across the country who read mine, so I post projects as well as family events and/or life happenings. I don't care if someone unsubscribes or for that matter, even subscribes. I do my blog to stay in touch with friends and family and to showcase the things I do create.
Some people's blogs are all about crafting and that's great! But we don't all have to do that. It's all about what you want, and it should be fun for you.
Relax, Kerilou! I frequently visit a blog, subscribe cuz I think it might be interesting and then realize that the person is just on a totally different track than me. Nothing personal, just looking for something different! There are scads of blogs and yours needs to be what YOU want it to be. What's the old saying, "You can't please everyone else, so you might as well please yourself"? Go ahead and make your blog whatever you want it to be! Your family and friends will love it and you may find yourself making a few new friends in the process!
what are the other choices for unsubbing? I've gotten a 'content no longer relevant' unsub...just curious. sorry that happened to you - it stings, for sure!
My email acct is clogged with subscriptions, but I never open those, I just go thru Google Reader (like others have said). Also, I have unsubscribed because I started to use another dedicated email address for all craft related buying/subscriptions/etc.
Don't be offended -- I mean people have various reasons. Plus, if you are happy maintaining your blog and sharing your work, then that is really all that counts....
I have only subscribed to one or two blogs, but I can tell you, I recently unsubscribed from those. Why, nothing wrong with the blogs, but school started. I am taking a very difficult grad class and with recent things happening in my life I just wanted to clean up a few things. Blog updates to my email was one of them. On any given day I have 30 unread emails. I still visit blogs 1-2x weekly. I don't think you should do anything on your blog except be yourself and do what you want.
Yeah, the first few times you get people unsubbing it stings :(
But then you get used to it, and it doesn't matter so much ;) I've had people unsub for unspecified reasons, because they're changing their email addy, and cause I don't update enough--which is true! That one made me LMBO!!!
I am subscribed to TONS of blogs. And in a few months, I will get stressed by all the email and start thinking I spend too much time on the computer, go crazy and unsub them all. Then after a month of missing the computer I'll go back to all of them.
As others have said, there could be lots of reasons. It is them, not you. Make the blog what you want it to be and don't worry about what others want it to be.

I think that it's the nature of the beast so to speak. I intially took an unsubscribe notice personally and had to remind myself they were rejecting my email/blog, not ME!
I would not worry!!!I never subscribe to a blog. I just add link in my favorites. I have a little notebook that I make a comment about what I liked about the blog--by the way I saved your in my favorites.

Kerilou - they probably "unsubscribed" because they added you to their Google Reader list, and just hit the wrong button on "reason"... don't let it worry you!
I noticed that a bunch of people unsubscribed from my blog when all the threads about google reader showed up. A lot of people use that now instead and unsub so they don't get the info twice. Don't worry! Be happy!
Hugs,
Gina K.

How about not even having the subscribe option? Then you don't have to worry about it at all. I personally don't subscribe to any blogs, I just go and read when I think of it.

I'm sure I've had a ton of ppl unsubscribe to my blog for all kinds of reasons - many mentioned above. I have never let it bother me - ppl do all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons - but I blog for ME  (it is nice tho that other's enjoy it too!! ;))
the first one is hard, but it's like a ding on a new car -- much easier after that. People subscribe and unsubscribe for many different reasons and most of them if not all are not related to you, so keep doing what makes you happy and don't worry about it. :-)
Keri, I noticed that a lot of viewers use Google Reader to find updates on blogs (I recently started using it too), and unsubscribe because of that.
I've been getting several unsubscribes this week and I'm hoping this is the reason. I know that's usually the reason I unsubscribe from a blog. Whichever, I'm not going to worry about it.

I tend to view it the same as Amy. I honestly don't have time to read blogs very often, and have more emails than I can sift through and try to respond to on a daily basis; blog updates via email just compound the issue for me, personally.
As for email notifications of subscriptions or unsubscriptions for my own blog, I elected not to receive those notifications for the very same issue. I have no idea how many subscribers I have or how many have unsubscribed. I suppose I could go look, but it really doesn't matter to me!
But, I do love Google Reader and pop into that every once in a while to catch up on blogs I would read regularly, if I only had the time to . . . *chuckle*
I must confess, tho--one individual actually emailed me recently to let me know she was unsubscribing to email updates of my blog because she needed to reduce her incoming emails, but, also wanted to reassure me that she had me on Google Reader. I honestly wouldn't expect anyone to do that (I don't feel compelled to inform Sizzix.com that I am unsubscribing to their emails nor why, UKWIM?), I thought that was really sweet of her.

Dont worry about it. I've unsubbed lately from a bunch of blogs (maybe even yours?), but I'm changing to google reader. I'm switching so quickly that its possible that I'm pressing the wrong button. And I know in the beginning I didnt hit the change to RSS feed button, because I didnt realize that's what google reader feed was!
I've subscribed to so many that sometimes it's getting in the way with the rest of my life, so I have to cut down on the number of things I'm reading. I wouldnt take any unsubbing personally.

Just in case people didn't know (because I didn't), these are the choices given for unsubbing from feedblitz:
You are unsubscribing because:
Content no longer relevant
Offensive, strongly disagree with, or disapprove of content
Changing email address (Wait! Change your email address yourself)
Subscribing using a different method (e.g. RSS)
Potentially unsolicited or do not recall subscribing
Too many updates
Too few or not timely updates
Other or will not disclose

I wouldn't worry about it. Like you said 'Take it or leave it'. We all have different tastes. It could also be that the person doesn't like getting extra emails...I know I sometimes feel this way.
