Is this too plain?
I attempted my first single layer card and I'm a bit apprehensive about it.
Does it look too plain? I used shimmery white paper and the watercolor vine wheel is in the background (it may be hard to see in the photo).
Thoughts?

And remember, this is my first attempt, so don't be *too* brutal! LOL

Sara,
I think we get so used to seeing multi-layers and embellishments we forget how pretty stamp and ink can be!
I think your card is elegant and lovely. I love the bright colors against the white.

That's a lovely card!
You don't always HAVE to use a lot of layers, embellishments etc...
Personally I like the more 'simple' cards (although they're not always so simple to create!) and when I 'm in doubt 'to add or not to add' it definitely is 'not to add'.
An other thing I like to do is using images that you would 'normally' color in and leave them as is........this gives a nice 'clean' effect too.

I think it's nice. I tend to use more basic cards for sympathy myself. Less is sometimes more.

I don't think it is too plain at all. Actually, I think I would prefer to have it even more plain - without the so saffron vines in the background! I like how the flowers are different colours!

Hi - I think less can be more. I really like your color choices for the flowers ... a soft and subtle look. Very classy!

I love that card. Sypmathy cards are supposed to be simple. I think its perfect. In some cases (especially sympathy cards) less really is more!

I am a big fan of single layer cards. (Layered cards actually intimidate me.) This is a beautiful classy card.

The card is really nice; often I'll search for "simple" or "one layer" cards because there are times that simple is better. Keep it up and TFS.

Your card looks great! I just finished doing a one-layer swap card and it was HARD! I did 10 samples (9 of which ended up in the garbage) before I hit on the one that was good enough to send. It will be in my gallery once the swap is received by everyone (don't want to take away the surprise! ;) )
One-layer looks "simple" but it's a fine line between plain and "ooo, that's bad". You hit the fine line of "oooo-that's NICE". :p

Oh My!!!! It's gorgeous! And "plain-erific"!
You nailed it on the head!
I think when we are so used to working and seeing layers and embellishments
it's some times hard to switch and see if plain is working....
This one is working...for sure!!!!
