I'm sorry - I checked out their site and I don't like that there's not a stamped image view. What exactly am I getting. Obviously, I'm not getting in a beautifully colored in painting as shown on the backside of the block...

I thought that too, but there is a gallery there so you can get a good impression of what they look like. Many familiar talented names are in the gallery!!
I did not. I was very impressed by our sister stampers. CHF has put together an amazing design team. Wow, their samples are stunning and the images amazing. I also thought that they were reasonably priced.
I'm afraid, however, that I won't be able to pull off anything near as nice as the design team. I'm not fishing for compliments, I'm being realistic. I don't use colored pencils (tried) and my shading is pretty weak!! So, at the moment I hate to invest in these and then make pale comparisons.
I did see some beautiful monochromatic samples (smart marketing LOL) but I would want to be able to color them.

I did! I got Village Christmas and The Forest Chapel.
I ended up getting the same two stamps. I figured Christmas cards for one and maybe sympathy cards for the other.
Cornish Farms is a company that I've seen recommended a lot here so I'm not worried about not seeing a stamped image first.
Hopefully they'll come when hubby is at a conference so I'll have time to play:rolleyes:

Joan I agree. I think the stamps are Sunning!!! But I don't think I would be able to do them justice. When my coloring talent "blossoms" I'll be all over them ;)
I went on the design team samples link and WOW!!! Are those beautiful!!!
I'm so glad that I ordered! (made sure to bookmark that link!! Thanks!)
I will finally use my colored penciled I've been hoarding and maybe I'll finally give gamsol a try!
I'm so excited!
(this will tie me over until I go to a catty reveal party next Friday! Kind of like the appetizer before the meal - a REALLY good appetizer!):-D
I am a paint by numbers sorta person, so I am totally out of buying those stamps. They are really beautiful though and the samples the SCS'ers did are just gorgeous.
Well, after I posted I had second thoughts! I feel that my post was too negative. Here is a great company have a fabulous release and I'm saying something about not buying them. I keep imagining taking the time to really work on one of these and how relaxing that would be. It might be worth investing in one just to challenge myself!

They have my favorite scriptures on there! I am so excited! I will be order at least two scripture stamps, but I don't think I would be able to do the Kinkade stamps justice. It would be so disapointing, I think, to never see it turn out like I want it.

Joan.
I hear your frustration, please don't feel that way. You should have heard the collected sigh when we got the initial test run image (which was tweaked many times over to get where it is now), that feeling ran thick with everyone, I can assure you!
That said, for me, the images are so beautiful stamped monochromatic, so that is probably where you will find me with them many times. There are some GREAT *colorers* in the group and they will share tips in the CHF forum.
I think Val is right that these stamps will be awesome monochromatic for those of use who are colored impaired.
I think I am going to get one for Christmas cards and go monochromatic with some sparkle and ribbon. Some of the samples in the forum are really out of sight.
And, I was thinking that I'm often complaining to myself that so many stamps look just like stuff I already have. Now, these are different! It's funny because I don't like his paintings but I think the images on cards rock.
Does anyone know what the angel policy is on these?

He definitely does beautiful work, will watch with interest what people produce, I have some gorgeous stamps from Rubbadubbadoo that is called Winters Cottage (or something like that) that is very similarish!!! (is that a word) so I will be refraining from spending my pennies, will leave them free for some of the new SU goodies, but I can't wait to see what everybody does with them, again they look amazing coloured in or monochromatic, good luck girls
I was thinking, could you emboss white on a dark paper? Avoid the coloring all together?
I imagine you can, as long as you get a good fine detail embossing powder, that would look amazing especially for the christmas ones, you could colour the windows in with yellow to make them look like they are lite up, beautiful
OMG!!! I was sooooo excited when I saw this post. I absolutely love Thomas Kinkade. These will be great for Christmas cards, sympathy cards, thinking of you, get well, almost any occassion. At first, I was a little intimidated by the coloring too, but then I looked at the monocolor samples and those look beautiful too. Thanks for enabling me today.... Here's what I ordered:
The Good Life
The Forest Chapel
It Doesn't Get Much Better
Make A Wish Cottage
The Garden of Prayer
Serenity Prayer
Delight Yourself - Psalm 37:4
The Heavens Declare Psalm 19:4
Kinda choked when I looked at the total, but hey, I got free S&H.
Does anyone know what the angel policy is on these?
Yes Joan, these images fall under CHF's Angel Policy:
Every image comes under our Angel Policy. We want you to get the most value out of our products so give you permission to use our stamps for creating personal & resalable items as long as:
Each item is hand stamped. (No mechanical or computerized reproduction in any form is allowed.)
Items sold should give credit to Cornish Heritage Farms on the back of the creation.
I, too, am intimidated by the thought of coloring these. They look great monochromatic, but that starts to look all the same to me then. They're so unique though, that I think I may try one or two. I need to widen out my "style". And my mom LOVES Thomas Kincade. I may try the Fisherman, since I also have no masculine stamps. Time to broaden the horizons.
So where are you looking out there in the WWW for these? I saw the banner page on SCS but now I don't see it. Poo! I just want to look, I love coloring!

The gallery on CHF for these stamps is amazing. WOW - what an awesome assortment of stamped cards/items. I will order at least one - just trying to decide which one to start with. Hopefully they'lre coming out with a lighthouse image next - those are some of my favorite TK images.
I went to the CHF website late last night after checking out Ellen Hutson's blog. I was captured, stunned, awe inspired and speechless. The design team did a superb job. I love Thomas Kinkade and what he stands for, but I too was intimidated by all the coloring and my own thoughts of my ability or inability to do them justice. Then I remembered a signature line I saw just yesterday here on SCS. It said: " It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not." I decided that if I didn't order these beautiful stamps because I thought I wasn't good enough, then I would never be good enough because I would never have even attempted to do this. I may surprise myself and with practice I may even come close to what the fabulous design team has produced. I ordered Make a Wish Cottage, The Forest Chapel and Village Christmas all in Vignette. When I am better at coloring, I will order the big stamps. Someday.....

Wow! I just checked out the Design Team gallery. Those stampers are really talented!! I would never buy those stamps because they seem like too much work to me. I do like to "color" my stamps but those look like a major production. Very pretty, though!
The creations with those stamps don't look like stamps at all! it's incredble. they really are like mini paintings.
that said, they are SO not my style and i would never buy them, beautiful as they are.

That was my issue. Once one of you get it would you be able to stamp an image and post it please? They look lovely but do not want to get if it is going to be alot of work to make the image look pretty.

I thought the same thing and then went to the gallery and looked at the monochromatic stamped images which will show you what you'll get before or without coloring them in.
Okay, I just checked out the gallery and these are just beautiful. You could do alot with embossing it looks like. Quick question, does anyone know if you could get these unmounted? I couldn't find it anywhere on the site. Thanks
