I am beginning to think we don't call anything by its real name LOL
I forgot all about "Pizza slut"! When our girls were young and they wanted pizza, they always said "Let's put, put, put to the Pizza Slut! Classy talk for grade schoolers - who is their mother - lol?
I was in Home Depot today and when I told my DH what I had found I heard myself say: "Home De-"pot". We started calling it that after the news story a few years ago when someone actually used a showroom toilet for real! Does anybody remember that? Too funny!
This has been a really fun thread to keep track of!
Wimpeys could be from the Popey comic strip - the moocher character was always tring to get someone to buy him a burger and he would say "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today'.
Nordstroms - Nordies
When I'm heading out to go stamp shoping I tell DH I'm running errands and he rolls his eyes because he knows where I'm really going. I thought if my dreaam of owning a stamp store ever came true I'd call it "Errands". Then my customers wouln't be lying if they said they were doing "errands."
Yep, wally world here too...and Target pronounced as if it was french (tar-jhay')...and mac's steak house or the rainbow room or Ronald's place...(mcdonalds...LOL)...how many others can you come up with? (keep it clean, though!!)
Depending on where Target is located, it's either called tar-jhay' or tar-ghetto.
