Default Is there any market for the pre-wood Stampin Up sets?

A friend of mine had two rubbermaid totes full of these old style stamp sets....can she get her money out of them like the retired wood mount ones?

Thanks

Kristin

If the stamps are still in good condition and she has desireable sets, then I don't see why she couldn't see them for some $$. Sets that are "dated" looking don't tend to do well (ex: country style sets)

OK, no fair! I was gonna say that! If they are desirable sets, I could see buying them, provided there weren't a ton of wood-mounted versions going for cheap. In that case, maybe not. However, anybody that doesn't mind unmounted stamps wouldn't mind getting them at all!

What do you mean "pre-wood"? I'm lost!

I sold all my old foam sets on e-bay and got a whole lot more for them than I paid for them, I was thrilled!!

When SU first started, their stamps were on foam mounts, then they went to offering them foam or wood for a few years (your choice). In the late 90's they went to wood only. I am thinking they are going to go UM/wood choice one of these days if they follow the current trends. I understand UMs sold 5x more this year than last!

I bought some sets on ebay a couple of years ago. I don't have any idea whether I paid more or less than the original price (I don't recall how much I did pay.) I do know they were sets I was happy to get - Button Bear and Regal Rose are the names, I think. I have noticed that some times on ebay a large lot of stamps does not seem to get as much as if they were sold as individual sets.
