Default Template for Printing Inside Greetings on 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card

I'm not sure where to post this request, so if I'm in the wrong place, mods please redirect me

I recently decided to adhere a layer of CS inside my cards for the stamped or printed greeting inside my cards. Thought it would look much nicer and more polished than just stamping a sentiment or greeting on the inside of the card. I would like to print the inside greeting on one sheet of CS that I would then cut down to adhere inside four greeting cards. i.e. one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 CS with four or six empty blocks on the page where a greeting can be typed or simply cut out and adhered to the inside of the card and then stamped. Clear as mud?

How do you experienced stampers/cardmakers achieve this? Is there a template or directions here on SCS that I can download to my computer so I don't have to "reinvent the wheel"? Thanks so much!!!

Kelli

This may not be what you're wanting, but this is what I do. In Word, I set the page in 2 columns. I type the sentiment, the copy/paste below the first one, then in the second column. I then do a page preview to insure that the sentiment is where I will want it. Print, cut and Voila! Hope that helps.

I have a template that I made. I'll see if I can find it on my computer.

Thanks to all who have replied so far; I'm looking for detailed specifics such as exact measurements or a template if anyone has it available. Thanks!

I do the same thing as calgramma above. I use a Word document page, and set it to two colums, with center formatting. I type whatever sentiment I want and paste and repeat it twice in one column, and twice in the other. I use print preview to see if it looks right on the spacing.

I print it out on printer paper and check if the sentiment is in the right place, usually about the middle of the two 4-1/2" spaces in each column.

Then I save it. When I need to do another sentiment, I use this, and rename it whatever - like birthday, Thinking of you, or whatever other sentiment I want.

The trouble with using an exact template or measurements is that your sentiments will vary in size and how many lines they use. Also, the type of font you choose can affect the placement.

This method works very well for me and takes very little time to "fine tune" each time I want to use it.

I generally use a white card base and I print the inside before I make the card. I'm going to try to attach the template I used for my Christmas card. Rather than try to explain, it might help to see what I do.

Default Template for Inside of Greeting Card

Thanks to all who responded. I noticed while surfing the gallery that someone mentioned that she uses the Avery.com postcard template to create the inside greeting for her card. Go to avery.com and look for the postcard template. It is available in landscape and portrait layouts. Good luck, everyone!
