I always buy my tape from framingsupplies.com. I buy in bulk so I get a bigger price break. Also, I only buy the red label tape because I don't like the gold (too stringy).
I haven't seen/tried this brand of tape. How do you like the performance overall? Is it as high-tack as the Scotch red labeled refill? (Stash is getting slim here ... time to consider ordering soon ... LOL)

I've been using this kind of tape since I got my ATG gun years ago. I see people complain about it sometimes, that they have trouble loading their gun, that the tape is on the wrong side of the liner, etc.
I've decided that a lot of that must be operator error. I've been pleased with it. I use it on every card that I make and it holds well. I don't care about acid free since it's cards and not photos.
I'm a frugal person and usually avoid buying expensive supplies if I can find a cheaper substitute that works.

My experience with the "no name" generic tape has been similar to that of Bugga in OK. It has saved me loads of money over time and I haven't had one bad roll in five years. I do a group buy with friends and we split the cost of a case so we can all get the cheapest price. I'm in Canada but go to New England a couple times of year so I order it in down there and bring it back with me as party of my duty free limits.

I used to buy mine a dozen rolls at a time, back when it was cheaper at framingsupplies.com. Now even the bulk prices are costly.
These days, if I'm in the area, I'll stop by JoAnn's or Michael's and use a 40% off coupon to buy a pack of adhesive. If my son is with me, he'll get me a second pack. $5.99 (Michaels) $6.49 (JoAnn's) for general purpose; $9.99 for acid-free for a 2-roll pack. That makes it $1.80/$1.95 per roll for the standard roll and $3 for the acid-free.
Of course, I have to deal with the inconvenience of going into the store for just one item. I try to visit on a day when I'm already in the area and on a non-weekend day so I can go in, grab the tape and leave. I don't even waste time looking at anything else unless I'm killing time for a meeting or appointment in the area.

You know, a few times I have convinced myself that the tape is on the wrong side of the liner....finally, I realized that you can pinch off the tape and stick it to the other piece of paper liner that it is adjacent to.....and then you can situate it on the rolls properly...it makes sense...because how is that tape supposed to know which liner it is supposed to adhere to, ha. I do love my red ATG...my cards do not fall apart.

This reminds me of a sign that used to be posted in my office over the computer server:
I too use Tape Jungle and if you are on their mailing list, they send out percent off codes at times. I just ordered 144 rolls, free shipping and it was less than a dollar a roll.
Wow, got an email back from tapejungle today. He said that there is no difference in the tape. One is marketed for the hobbist and the other for the professional. So, basically it's the difference in qty that one would order.
