I am trying to decide if I should switch to TAC from SU because of the lower minimums. I have not used any of their products yet, although I am getting ready to order some. Can anyone who has used TAC products tell me how they compare to SU and CTMH?
I personally don't like the quality of the images I got with CTMH acylics, so that is why I went with SU. I love CTMH patterned paper though.
I'd appreciate any feedback!
I'm thinking about the same thing as well. Only $100 every 4 months is quite a difference from SU. Even if I couldn't find anyone to purchase from me, I can meet the $25 a month it would break down to.
Your best option would be is to order some TAC products and play!! See how you like them. Browse the catty a few 100 times, lol, and really look at what TAC offers. Talk to a few demos in your area that would be your potenital uplines, and see who fits your needs.
The lower minimums are a plus and is what initially made me go with TAC...and now that there is a greater acceptance of UMs, it is even easier these days to interest folks. You can call the home office to get a feel of how many demos are in your area (although you won't know how many are active sellers versus hobbyists...but it helps).
I jumped in without even trying the product during a sign up special like the current one, but I would agree that it is wisest to try the product first and be comfortable with the selection of what we carry. If you like papers, though, we have come out this past year with some great selections!
what kind of special is the current one?
Does tac have any rules like stampin up about who you can rep for and where you can sell? I know they have a fab angel policy;)
What is the sign up special right now? Does anyone know?
Are there any TAC demos out there around Lexington, Ky?
They have the Jubilee sign up special still going on (until 30 Mar) All new Angels will receive a $50 stamp bonus good for all T-coded stamps.
You can find a demo in your area by visiting the TAC website. If you click on Shop Now youll be able to find a demo with Angel net in your area some demos dont have Angel sites so it's better to call TAC to find one closer to you that may not be listed. You can contact them at 785-820-9181. ;)

If you havent used TAC stamps, you should try them before you make a decision on becoming a demonstrator, unmounted stamps arent for everyone. Personally I think the stamps from TAC are comparable to SUs quality. I only have 3 CTMH stamp sets and dont use those as often I cant get clean crisp images, but I do love CTMH ink pads, cardstock, patterned papers and embellishments, they have a wide variety of colors to choose from. ;)
I've used lots of SU and some TAC. Here's my assessment. TAC's images stamp fine. I love the fact that they are on unmounted ez foam as it makes storage, price and placement easier.
I'm not a huge fan of most of the images in TAC's catty. However, I've seen the spring mini and loved a couple of the sets.
So, IMHO, TAC is an excellent option if you like the images or like enough of them to meet your minimums.
I have invested a lot of money in SU inks and paper and think they are top notch and haven't used TACs, so no opinion on that one! HTH

You can't represent competing interests so you couldn't be a TAC demo and CTMH or SU...and even Memory Works since they sell scrapbooking items. But, you can do Pampered Chef, etc...
On the other hand, you can sell your creations anywhere. And, you can sell your catalogs at a craft show...or, you can sell your stamped creations at a workshop. We are no longer supposed to sell current stamp sets on ebay though...that was a new change recently.

That has been an issue for us, but probably more in the past. Luckily the exclusive new papers that TAC carries matches both Bazzill and DCVW textured papers (which we also sell but you can get these other places as well ;) ) and the Palette inks which we carry.
A very, very nice ANGEL put together a matching list of suggested colors so that is a big help...but, I digress.

With TAC you only have to sell in Retail $100.00 every 4 months. Our Stamps are Rubber NOT Acrylic: We do use a Acrylic Block instead of Wood Block for our stamps. Each stamp set that you purchase from TAC come with a full sheet of ez-mount (Creative Cling)foam. Our Rubber stamps are deeply etched and are made from Blue Rubber. We also sell 12x12 Patten Paper and some 12x12 Cardstock. 9x9 Pattern Paper 8x8 pattern Paper Our cardstock is 80# Some of it is only 65# We carry many cool embellishements, Palette inks, Stazon (19 colors plus refills) Stazon Opaque Pads, Versa Magic ink pads & spots. Brilliance inks & spots!
My personal Opinion is our Stamps and supplies are pretty equal to SU's. Some of our Paper collections are Exclusive to us only! As some of our Embellishements are too.
As for the other stuff about TAC.
You as a Demo would get 30% discount on your personal orders. NO Commission is given. Earn 25% commission on Retail sales. TAC mails you a commission check twice a month. Be able to enter TAC Contest Be a hobby demo or a Full time Business Demo it's your choice!
If it is any help at all, I joined TAC a year ago this past January, resigned and went with SU last summer, and have just recently rejoined TAC and am SO glad I did... I still like SU stuff, but TAC's stamps are getting better and better and I am really loving their style more and more! Plus you can't beat the minimums and Angel Policy.

I went with TAC because I love their images and the closest angel to me was 45 minutes away. I have several friends who are SU demos and I continue to be a loyal SU customer.
From where I sit, the PROS with TAC are the low minimums, absolutely NO pressure from home office to do more than you want to do, angel policy, easy storage of stamps, low prices, variety of images, higher-than-average commission.
The CONS with TAC are that they haven't "branded" a lot of things yet. It's been difficult for me to match cardstock & ink colors, and many of the embellishments can be bought in the big box craft stores. The matchmakers cardstock is much more expensive than SU's and has an annoying little sticker on EVERY piece.
That said, I LOVE being an angel!! I teach classes about once per quarter in my home, and will be doing my first funshop next month (someone twisted my arm, lol!) The kit was a phenomenal value and there really isn't a lot of overhead.
I would be happy to answer any questions, as would any of the angels here at SCS, I'm sure. Good luck with your decisions!

Let me also throw in here that I've heard some Angels say that their creativity has *expanded* by not having all color families already laid out for them. I guess each person has to decide for herself. Our TAC exclusive papers are excellent matches for DCWV papers and Palette ink pads. I would guess TAC planned it that way, but that's only my guess...
Before you jump into anything, ask TONS of questions. I asked my future upline a million and one before I signed up. Also read all the fine print in the contract. You can access it here:
As with anything there are pros and cons. I've been with TAC for 5 years and LOVE it. Do I still buy other stamps yes because I'M A RUBERAHOLIC ! But please don't tell my husband. I live in a small( less than 1000people) town where we have 2 SU demo's 2CTMH demos and me. I am able to keep my quota no problem. For people in my area having things you can get at the reg. stores is great because our closest Mikes or Joann's are 95 miles away and the closed Ben Franlin is 60 miles. No matter what you chose love what you choose and choosw what you love.;)
I love TAC! I joined 6 months ago and am so glad I did! Each time they release new stamps I love them more and more and more! They low quotas are awesome, but it is really the prices of the stamps themselves that hooked me in the first place. I love a good bargain and I feel like I get that with unmounteds.
I agree though, when your order comes in, try the stamps and see how you like them. That will help you make your decision!!
TAC is revamping their compensation policy, which will probably be revealed at Seminar in June. I personally would wait to sign up with them until the changes are known, although you could always just drop it. They have been reassuring us angels that the changes will all be positive, but some of us are still a little concerned as to what it will mean for the hobbyist. Just a thought to consider.
Other than that, I love being an angel and have seen continual improvement in TAC's designs and offerings (like the exclusive patterned papers)--this is a company that is on the move, yet is still very family-like.

I have followed this thread with interest and would love to see a catalog. I looked on the locator, but the closest angel to me was over 100 miles away and anyway, I'd rather deal with a fellow SCS'r. Any angels in Jax/Orange Park FL? Please PM me.
Just another Angel here, totally loving TAC!!! Something I have not seen mentioned is you can do cash and carry- with product and with kits you make. I love this option!!
(BTW- I signed up after my first look through a catty- my first purchase was the start up kit. LOL)

I really don't think that you should allow the possibilities of a new compansation plan to hold you back from joining! None of us know what it is going to be yet and that is still 3 months (1/4 of a year) away. The home office has told us not to forget that they are FOR us and that we shouldn't worry about the changes they have in store for us. I know, easier said than done, but we could always find reasons to put things off until tomorrow and then we would never know the opportunities that we are missing out on.
Hello everyone
I was reading this post and noticed that some of you say you don't get a crisp stamped image when you are using your CTMH stamp set.
I am a CTMH demonstrator and I always ask no matter if you use our or any acrylics or even wood stamps. "Are you using the foam that came with your CTMH set? or the table top? If you are not using CTMH stamps but using any acrylic or even rubber stamps--- are you using the table top? or a foam surface ( LIke an oversized mouse pad)_. Most say no.
By using a foam pad from CTMH that comes with each set or an oversized mouse pad or even a Sweet D stamp pad you will get a clean---even--- crisp stamped image. Using a table top you are not giving your stamp any "give" to make a crisp impression. Not all surfaces are smooth.
If you are needing more information about CTMH and stamping images, please feel free to email me.

Tac stamps are no differant to stamp with than SU other than the fact that they are unmounted and cost less. I do have to store mine in cd cases though. But there are also solutions to storage.
The demo side is also much easy to accumlate only $100.00 a quarter . Which I only can do that. I also thought about becoming a hobbiest demo . Since There is so many differant accessories to stalk up on also. I am not a demo but the thought is always there. Since there prices are so cheap. I love there sentiments.
Downfall- It's just hard to break away fro SU and there designers. I have to say they have the best designers. They just come out with the custest stamps. and I love the mini catalogs. I usually order more from the mini's than anything.

I only wish TAC and CTMH had a website like this which all the stamps listed like this site. Hint hint maybe someone should start one up. The only thing is how to keep it going being a free site to join and everything.

There is a CTMH site like this. You'll find it at http://www.stampercentral.com You can click from there to the art gallery. At the art gallery, you can search by stamp set, stamp set number, or something as simple as flowers.
I'd love to see it get as busy as SCS!! Since I pay all the hosting fees myself, I'd really like it to prosper! LOL!
There is one similar to this for TAC also called A Shade of Blue. The web address is: www.ashadeofblue.net. You can also search by stamp set, technique or by a general term. There is a message board there too.
