I'm a CD case fan too!
There are several places that you can go to get questions answered, tips for starting, etc.
There's a message board here: Angel Help The angels only stuff is hidden until you register.
And there's a great Yahoo group called webeangels that has tons of biz tips too.
Good luck and welcome to the TAC family!
I just came back to tell you some things and saw that you've gotten a few links. ;-) Another one is Paper Wings--anyone can view but if you register, you can see all the Angels Only things. It started in June and we're growing FAST!!! Try here...http://paperwings.myfreeforum.org/
As mentioned, WeBeAngels is a good group to join and there are lots more too! Ask if you need links. Some are NewBusiness-oriented, craft show oriented, scrapping oriented, etc.

I use CD cases too! I've heard of some who also use DVD cases but I have yet to find any that don't have an insert (or have one that can be removed). I store my large sets on plastic storage boards in a 3-ring binder.
Check out WebeAngels yahoo group and Paper Wings....they are both great resources for ideas. There are also lots of great Angels here that would be happy to answer any questions you have.
I bought a box of 200 standard size jewel cases without the insert at Rima.com for $24. UPS shipping to me is $17.15. That figures out to about 21 cents per CD. I had started out buy standard CDs from Office Max for 25 standard cases for $8.99 but that figures out to 36 cents a CD (without sales tax added in).
I also like the fact that I didn't have to pry the insert out and toss that away with the cases I buy from Rima. I may have to place another order soon.... I think I'm down to maybe 10-15 left!

I use CD cases as well. Sometimes when I travel I have tiny packs that I make up- then I use tic tac containers, the clamshell boxes and all sorts of stuff. But for everyday storage I use the CD cases. I also bought mine from Rimas- they are a little flimsier than the ones I used to get at Staples, but they seem to work just fine.

Hey welcome to TAC!!! Where are you in NC?
As for storing Stamps I have used Old Style CD cases. Which have a middle insert. I remove the middle insert and store my unmounted stamps in there.
I use my label maker and label one end of the cases so I can see just what I have.
I have been using this system for 4 years now and it works great for me!
I have two examples of how they look...The photo of the stamp room is older. and doesn't look like this anymore.
I am in the process of removing the ezmount from all of mine and using the bare rubber. I am coating it with Alene's TIOAO. I then put them on cut up photo album refill sheets in store those in 6x9 envelopes cut in half. I am using kphorse's method. She has some photos in her gallery of this system. I found the CD's too cumbersome and still took up quite a bit of room. The envelopes in the photo boxes take barely any room. I had 4 shelves of a combination of CDs and SU sets still on the wood. Three photo boxes from Oriental Trading now hold ALL my stamps (will have 4 by the time I am done).
I would recommend you try a couple of methods on a few sets before you do them all. It is a job and a half to switch down the road!

Is there a demo some where of unmounting mounted stamps?? I bought the stuff to unmount some, did one set (wrong) and haven't touched the stuff since. I would love to see some examples.
I actually like to keep mine in the clamshell boxes they come in.
Then when I want to travel or am working on a project, I actually store
the acrylic block or blocks I need, markers, inks, pencils and other
things I want to use for that project in the actual box with the stamps.
I can also fit a smaller stamp set inside a bigger stamp set.
I have plenty of storage space, though, and I can understand why other
people might want to do the CD cases.

If you do a search, there will be quite a few threads out there on the subject. Just from experience here are a few quick tips. Don't be afraid! It's time consuming and sticky but well worth it!
1) Heat stamp in microwave if it doesn't want to peel apart...about 10 sec.
2) Sprinkle some baby powder or use saran wrap over the cling once you have laid out your stamps to cut...it cuts down on the stickiness.
3) Someone mentioned a "hot knife" for cutting that they bought at Michaels...sounds intriguing!
4) If you want to index your stamps...you have to do it before you stick the rubber stamp to the cling. This isn't always the perfect line up but it helps for words. Stazon I found works best but it will "rub" off a bit on your storage container and block. Not really sure about the long term results...;) http://allamericanstampers.tripod.com/id17.html (I'm sure others have a nice tutorial...)
5) Brand new stamps from SU peel apart super easily. I just place the stickers in my CD case where the stamp sits. It makes it really easy to put them back in the "right" spot.
You ladies are fantastic! Any other "organizational ideas" you have hidden anywhere, please do let me know....
One more thing...... I cannot find Angel Help on SCS.... please help

It's not part of SCS.... but I did see you register over there. You now have access there to see the angels only portion of the forum. http://angelhelp.hyperboards.com/index.php
Because it is a great sell point I store 1/2 of mine on the storage sheets we sell, then leave the other 1/2 in the clam shells they come in because I can throw supplies I am using for the demo right into the box with the stamps before I go. I sell a lot of the storage boards by showing my binder.
