Hi ladies,
Do you know where I can by chance find some table top shelves for my first craft show? My art is 5x9" and 5x12" tall and I am not sure where to find any shelves that would look good to go on a table top. I am all about everything being at eye level. I have seen thinking maybe book shelves but no, I know that I don't look down to much even in the stores. I like everything at eye level.
Also do you know where I'd find some table skirts? Thanks ladies.
As far as shelves goes, I would check thrift stores and Goodwill. They often have small shelves that might go on a table top. You can spraypaint them easily to match your display.
Also check out this website. They make displays for cards, and some might be suitable for your art. Even heavy posterboard would work, and can be spraypainted.
For some really, really creative ways to display paper, check out this blog: Oh So Beautiful Paper. The bloggers went to the New York National Stationery Show last weekend. Beginning May 19 (scroll down), they took tons and tons of pictures of the exhibitors. There are pictures of incredible ways of displaying paper products and fantastic ways to package your products. It's a lot to digest, but maybe it will spark some ideas for you.
Here's another idea for you . . . set up your booth inside your house for practice. When you get it the way you like it, take a picture. Then, when you get to the show just look at your picture to see how to set up your booth. No last minute scrambles. Organization is critical.
Oh wow ladies, thank you so much for all the information. This is a lot of fun chatting about this with you all! I am off to read some more of the great links.
Thank you for the pictures of your show, it looks great! I love the baskets used as display. Great idea!! Your cards are adorable!!
I've seen where they've hinged shutters together to make a display, too. You can use s-hooks to hang directly on the slats of the shutters, or you can put shelves across (they would be triangular like a corner shelf, since the shutters would form a "corner") to put things on.
