Default Sympathy card suggestions?? Never done one

Is a Thinking of You card appropriate for a sympathy card. I'm new to stamping and do not have a sympathy stamp. The father died unexpectedly Monday night. I know the wife, daughter and grand daughter and am not sure what is appropriate to place inside of the card. I would like to make a card for the wife and the daughter but if I can't figure it out I will go purchase one. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Hi Sandra,

I have always had a difficult time making a sympathy card. I went to the gallery and searched "sympathy" and got a lot of results. There are several cards in the gallery! I think "Thinking of you" is very appropriate. I don't have a sympathy stamp either.

Hope this helps,
Christine

As the recipient myself more than a time or two, I can tell you that "thinking of you" is definitely good. I actually preferred it to some of the more flowery phrases...

Default Sympathy card

I have always used "Thinking of you" for my sympathy cards and usually do a nice muted floral card. That is exactly what you are doing.. you are thinking of that person and sending prayers and thoughts their way.

The tide recedes,
But leaves behind
Bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down,
But gentle warmth
Still lingers on the land.
The music stops,
And yet it echoes on
In sweet refrains...
For every joy that passes,
Something beautiful remains.

Works well with Stipple Shells.
