Nope. Not just you.
I was pleasantly surprised by how few sets are retiring. Especially when many on the list are the different versions of the personalized stamps (one line, two line, three line ...)
Note ... a lot of the Decor Elements are also retiring ... and are discounted as well. That's a separate retirement list.
I fell they always have the same amount of discontinued stamps every year, I always color in the little box nest to the stamps discontinued and am surprised how few I have that will no londer be available. This enable me to get some of the stamps I want but have not purchased yet. You also have the accessories discontinued sheet and there are three pages of them. So keep the faith we will all be happy when the new caddy comes out.
I too was surprised at what seemed like a small amount retiring when we are going back to one catty a year.
While I enjoy having 2 catalog a year in terms of loving new stuff, as a demo it has been really difficult to have 2 a year, for retirement sake as well as getting new catalogs. I am really glad they are switching back, but I totally understand those that are sad.
I wonder if I have any time to snatch up any extra IC paper...though I am thinking I should just focus on the new IC coming out, which I love. Hmmm.
I had my demo order some IC papers for me tonight. Do not wait to long because from experience they go really fast. I also like the new IC coming out, cannot wait to be able to order them.

Totally....though I am thinking I already have a fair amount already, just that I have more left of some colors. I may just try to focus on using up the less used colors. Forces me to get creative.
We just got the news on the demo side..NOT to get rid of all your IN COLOR stuff....even from previous years...no other message just that...wonder what SU has up their sleeves...lol
blessings.
I really need to read what I type before posting, I just got a little too excited.
Don't worry Jeannie, we could FEEL your excitement!

I have seen the retirement list in alphabetical order. But that takes SO long to go through that way. Does anyone have a link to the page number order list like they have had in the past? I tried the SU website and didn't find it.

I am pretty sure this is what you are looking for:

I'm just happy that my Lovely As a Tree made it one more year -- YIPPEE! It's my go-to set for masculine, sympathy and holiday cards... was ready to cry-me-a-river if it retired!
I guess I don't understand. What difference does it make if it retires? Is it because you're a demo and SU has rules you can't use retired products?
As demos, it doesn't make business sense for us to use retired products in a workshop. If we did, and a customer wanted to order it, we'd have to say "Sorry, glad you like it, but you can't get one anymore and this one is mine". Not the greatest customer service/happiness scenario.
Therefore, a lot of demos will get rid of their sets that have been retired ... although they may keep some (or all) for personal use. Depends on the demo.
But there are no SU! rules about retired product.
I understand the demo aspect of not using it. I just didn't know if CarolineinToronto was, in fact, a demo, or if there was some other reason that stampers in general (not demos) would no longer use their stamp sets once they retired. KWIM?

ok not to get off whatever the subj at hand is.. but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I thought I had ordered the Baja reinker and didn't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and now its out of stock! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
In some card swaps you can only use curent SU!, but with that said in the Fall-Winter 2008 catty on page 142 they used a retired set for one of their sample.
Did anyone else notice a discrepancy between lists? The list I looked at said that Central Park, a brand new set, was retiring; but the list my demo had did not. That aside, most of my collection is retired! Hahaha! I get the ones I like best and when the retired list comes out I get those if I want them. I only purchase sets I believe I will get a lot of use out of (Great Grads is one I am ordering tomorrow at club!).

Yep, absolutely, a demo doesn't want to show off something she can't sell... that'd just be silly anyway. But I was sure that demos could only demo available/current products? I know my friend/demo/former upline always said that she's not allowed to demo anything that isn't current.
I always had the opposite feeling about the retired list -- retired means that I can sell them here on SCS !!!
YOU WILL NEED TO GET A HOLD OF A DEMO TO FIND OUT WHAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
The demo of the workshop I attended yesterday hadn't checked the list prior to the workshop that day, so had customers go ahead and pay for retiring items they wanted, and will reimburse customers for any amounts/items no longer available. At first I was thinking hmmmmm. . .she should have checked. . .but then I realized this time of year, had she checked prior to the workshop, items could still be out of stock by the time she actually placed the order hours later. So, it will be a surprise to me as to whether or not I actually receive retiring DSP on my list. Anyone know whether or not "Bella Birds" is still available today? I can't find the link to look it up myself. TIA.
