Default SU old ink pad color question?

My dear mother in law brought me an old Stampin Up stamp set (1995) and an inkpad last week.....she no longer does any crafting stuff. The ink color is called "Forest Foilage" and it's pretty dry, it's the old style of ink pad too. I was wondering if there is a current color that is the same or close enough to the same that I could get a reinker for? I'm thinking Handsome Hunter looks pretty darn close.......anyone remember Forest Foilage?

I've got another older ink pad as well called Rose Romance......any reinkers for that?

Yes, I remember that one! My sister still have that ink color and handsome hunter is slightly darker if I am remembering it correctly. We did a comparison once to see the difference.

Handsome Hunter is pretty close (not as blue) and Regal Rose would be close to Rose Romance.

I have these retired colors. Forest foliage is much more blue than handsome hunter. Rose Romance is pinker and a little darker than Regal Rose. You might try posting on the ISO (In Search Of) Forum here on SCS and see if anyone has a reinker for these colors that they might sell you.

These are what I would recommend, too. They were extremely close. Oh, and a tip for ya--write the new name of the reinker on the bottom of the old pad with a Sharpie, and then if you ever need to match it to anything, you'll remember the newer name.

Dump the old ink pad and get a new one, they don't cost that much.

I've been thinking about that but I actually prefer the older stamp pad style- I hate the flip open kind.

I have sent you an e-mail via your blog--I may have a Forest Foliage reinker for you. Can't help you with Rose Romance though! None of the existing colors is quite like Forest Foliage. It has a blue tint to it that I love.

I was able to get 2 Forest Foliage reinkers through the BST forum last year. It's my favorite green for Christmas trees. I like a little blue in the greens I use for them. Hopefully, you'll be able to find some; good luck.

One thing that I have tried is Perfect Ink Refresher by Ranger. It is about the size of a Stampin' Mist bottle, and you spray it on your pad to moisten it. It does not contain any color/pigment, just something to wet your ink pad.
