Default SU -Envelope vs gift box punch board

Now that they have both been out for a while, which one do you think is easier to use. Thinking about buying one - just not sure which one. The simpler the better. Would love to hear your opinions please.

Hi, I only have the envelope punch board and really like that one. It can make small boxes to hold any size cards I believe. I looked at the other one but did't see how I would enjoy that one as much. Just my opinion. zipper28

How is it to use? Easy, difficult?

I have them both, and really, they are both pretty easy to use - as long as you are careful with the original measurement and lining your score up for the next score.

If I were getting only one, I'd go with the envelope board. There are tons of online tutorials and youtube videos showing how to use it to make different sizes of boxes; as far as I know, there isn't a tutorial on how to use the gift box board to make envelopes

I ended up with the gift box board as well for a couple of reasons:
1) I already had the envelope board and the pillow box board. Once I have 2 of something, I think I need the whole set.
2) I was at Michaels with a coupon burning a hole in my pocket and that board was the one thing in the store that wasn't already on sale.
3) I NEEDED the punch that cut the perfect little interlocking slits in the tops of the gift box so the top flaps slotted together.

I totally agree with Cheryl! I have them all, but really love the epb. It's the one I actually use. When it comes down to it, it's easier for me to make a box just scoring and clipping cardstock.

I think the envelope punch board is more versatile.

I'm in total agreement about the envelope punch board. It's plenty easy to use and there are various ideas on pinterest for using it.

I really like the envelope one. I must admit though, that I do not have the one for the box. I am able to make boxes with the envelope one, (small ones as mentioned above), I have the ability to make my own boxes with a good score board though. I'm pretty good at figuring them out, just by measuring the item.

I'll vote the envelope simply because I can make ANY size envelope with the link that I post below and they have a box section on this site too. It also is really good at making the look of file tabs and v notches. (I used it to get the look of wooden fence planks) That was the seller to me.

Here is the link to make both envelopes and boxes. Both links are from the same site. One is for making the boxes and one is for envelopes. This site has never failed me.

The one that I've been thinking about getting is the flower board, but honestly, I make beautiful paper flowers without them. I do like the 60's flower power look of their flowers, but I have the cricut flower shoppe cart that also makes similar ones so I am probably not going to get it.... although I like it...lol

I have both but find the envelope punch board is more versatile. You can make boxes, envelopes, cards, bows, etc. So far the box maker makes boxes....nice ones but just boxes. Also the Crafty Owl envelope and box links suggested by Denverkat276 are an invaluable tool.
